Not very convenient for cleaning... December 11, 2008
While this is a nice pitcher and a neat concept, it has several drawbacks. It is not air / water tight, which allows other odors in the refrigerator to mingle with the contents of the pitcher. The "dial" on the lid allows for "open", "strain", and "closed". Again, it is not air tight, and it is easy for someone to leave it slightly off center, allowing even more air to enter. The lid and handle are attached to the "plunger" or "stirrer" at the bottom. They DO NOT COME APART!!! This makes it impossible to clean thoroghly. If you use this pitcher for tea, expect immediate staining all over the plunger part all the way up to the top, especially where it "connects" to the lid. I did manage to get the "dial" part off to clean it, but it was a real pain to get it off, and an even bigger pain to get it back on. I like that it is acrylic and does not stain the pitcher itself, however, after all is said and done, I would not buy it again. After several times of using it for tea, it just really looks nasty.
