Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This is just the thing for brewing delicious, homemade iced tea at home. The 2.5-quart, glass pitcher is so attractive that you can brew directly into it and serve immediately without having to transfer tea. You can customize brew strength.

3 out of 5 stars Works well, OK Replacement for Mr. Coffee Tea Maker   January 6, 2009
We, like others, chose this to replace the Mr. Coffee iced tea maker. The brittle plastic pitchers on that unit were constantly breaking or cracking, and we had replaced too many. So the big draw here for us was the glass pitcher, and after a couple weeks of fairly heavy use, we are satisfied with it on that count. The glass pitcher has nice, easy to see marks for water and ice on it, which were somewhat difficult to see on the Mr. Coffee. It makes good tea, and you can control the strength fairly well. The unit is attractive, and realtively easy to clean.
Negatives: Compared to the Mr. Coffee, it takes up more room since it is taller. It also has the annoying habit of spilling tea collected in the upper part that does not make it into the pitcher. So this makes a mess when you tip the unit slightly like I need to to fit into our storage cupboard. The area that holds the tea seems unnecessarily complicated with three removeable baskets with flimsy plastic handles on each. Now, granted, they seem to stay pretty clean, but the first time or two you use this you will be scratcing your head on how it all fits together. And the topmost basker, necessary for loose tea only, still must be in place even if you are using bagged tea. It is somewhat of an awkward fit on top of the tea bags. Like the Mr. Coffee unit, putting sugar or honey in the percolation chamber doesn't really dissolve it into the pitcher. You are better off putting it in the pitcher and using your electric hand blender (get one if you don't have one - and get the Kitchenaid; trust me). Perc time seems to be slightly slower than the Mr. Coffee.
Overall, build quality seems OK, appearance is very nice, and the quality of the tea is fine. I would have to say, if it were not for the glass pitcher, I would have stuck with the Mr. Coffee - it is more compact, seems to brew faster, is far less complicated and much less expensive.

5 out of 5 stars Great Iced Tea Maker   January 4, 2009
This may be the best iced tea maker I've ever used. It's convenient, easy to clean, brews a quart of tea in about 10 minutes, and it's useful with either bagged or loose tea, without any need for extra filters. You can select the brewing strength from one of three settings. The glass pitcher is a nice touch, too.

The pitcher is also the only thing that keeps it from being perfect, though. It feels a little lightweight to me (although I have to say I've never had a problem with it; it's been reasonably durable in practice), it takes up quite a bit of space in the refrigerator, and it doesn't have a lid or cover. It is nice and big, though. Usually after brewing and cooling I transfer the tea to another container to store.

5 out of 5 stars Iced tea made easy   December 22, 2008
We drink a fair amount of iced tea in my family, and this product allows you to make iced tea quickly (with no need to cool it before drinking, since ice or cold water are added prior to brewing). It makes 2.5 quarts so it's not necessary to be making a new pot of tea as often. Lightweight, easy to clean.

I like this teamaker as opposed to the Mr. Coffee because it's glass. It stays clean and doesn't get the tea stains like the plastic container does.

5 out of 5 stars Great for the money   October 18, 2008

I've had a couple of iced tea makers over the years, but this one has much better quality components and is simpler to use.
It works flawlessly.
