Substantially built with an attractive satin finish, the Persuasion flatware from Oneida is a handsome everyday set. A mirror finish on the knife blade adds a gleaming accent, and the tapered handles feature a flat base for easy, comfortable control. The set is crafted from stainless steel with 18 percent chrome for durability and resistance to discoloration and corrosion. This 53-piece set includes dinner service for 8, plus 8 extra teaspoons for the coffee course. Each place setting features a 9-inch place knife, 8-inch place fork, 7-inch place spoon, 7-inch salad fork, and 6-1/2-inch teaspoon. So far so good... this is a great set of silverware... fully functional with simple lines. We have not experienced any discoloration at all, even when run through the dishwasher. This set is everything the description says it is. A+

I have always preferred Oneida stainless flatware. I picked up two services of this pattern on sale years ago, and I have never regretted it. It is simple, sturdy and comfortable to use. Even the garbage disposal doesn't make much of a dent in a spoon. I have never had a piece rust or pit. I just wish more matching serving pieces were available.

This is the worse set of flatware that I own. You would think that with the Oneida brand that there would be a quality product but this set is terrible.

I bought the Oneida Persuasion Flatware Set to be used as an everyday set. I liked its clean and simple design, and its mate finish on the handles. To my surprise, and in less than a year, a few of the handles had started to rust, like if a small drop of water had stayed and worked its way through the metal. This is ridiculous, I live alone and the set is barely used by the maid and me, so it has been exposed to a very light use. I do own other cheaper Oneida sets that had withstand years of use and abuse, but this one is not worth buying.
