My cat loves to sit and sleep on boxes, but unfortunately cardboard boxes don't really match the decor of my house. So I saw this product and the price was right so I bought it. I used the two day free shipping offered by Amazon Prime and the product actually came the next day. I put the bed together in about 10 minutes and put it in Kitty's favorite spot. He loves it!!! It is a good sturdy product and you don't need any tools to put it together, You actually store the tools as well as the product within the bed. I would definitely recommend this product.

We bought two of these (large and medium) and I was impressed by the construction when they arrived.However within 2 months both beds were effectively destroyed because the rigid base of the bed (made of a kind of masonite board) was so lacking in give that our dogs tried to hollow them before lying down. The beds' surface nylon gave way under this scratching and the beds became unusable. By contrast our Coolaroo beds, which looked flimsy to me, have lasted for 5 years now with no damage. They are also much cheaper. I am afraid that if your dog likes a nice, yielding surface to lie upon, the Petmate bed will not last.

Our dogs prefer their Durabeds to the furniture. It doesn't accumulate as much dust, as it rests 5-6 inches above the floor. Moreover, it's very easy to clean.

My dog loves it. This is the first bed that my JRT hasn't been able to destroy. Much better than the beanbag type beds. He hasn't even tried to eat it. These are a much cheaper alternative to the pricey Kuranda beds.

Petmate Durabed Small, Burgundy

I purchased the small burgandy bed, and this is a perfect fit for our 7 pound Yorkie. The bed was quite easy to put together and felt very solid. I purchased this for outdoor use on the cement patio, which can get quite cold for our dog to sit on. I had the item delivered in time for the weekend, and put it together on the Friday it was received. Our dog jumped right up into it, as soon as I placed it on the floor. He rolled up into a little nester ball to sleep, and then stretched out for a while, taking up the space from side to side. He had plenty of space in the small bed, even when he jumped into it carrying one of his toys. He easily jumped in and out of the bed; without it moving. He likes to stand in it, when out on the porch, as he seems to think that adding those additional inches of height provides him with an improved site line and has turned him into a BIG dog. We took the bed into the house at night to prevent it from getting damp, and when we went looking for our dog a while later, noticed that he had jumped back into the bed again. A neighbor came over to visit, and her dog, which looks to weigh about 10-12 pounds jumped into the bed, as our dog watched. Our dog loves his new bed, and so does our neighbor's dog. What a great product.
