The Sharp XL-HP707 executive microsystem has a compact five-disc CD player, a digital AM/FM tuner, and a cassette deck. This sleek all-in-one unit is great for small spaces, yet doesn't sacrifice in performance what it lacks in size.

The CD changer holds five discs and features play exchange so you can swap discs without missing a beat. Playback formats include CD-R and CD-RW. The full-logic cassette deck features autoreverse. Handy functionality includes a timer, sleep function, and built-in clock. The four-color fluorescent display with blue background illumination means that you'll always be able to see the display, even in the dark.

The two-way bass reflex speakers provide 100 watts per channel, and there is the option to add a separate subwoofer with the subwoofer output. It features a six-step equalizer and X-Bass, which delivers deeper, richer bass at the touch of a button.

Bought if for Christmas, set it up on New Year's Eve, and it was broken by January 10. Poorly made. This is the last time I buy and electronics from a company that isn't Sony.
