Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Here is the perfect grill for the beach, camping, or a weekend getaway to the lake. This portable grill features Weber's patented Flavorizer System, which distributes heat evenly across the cooking surface, essentially eliminating flare-ups.

Amazon.com Review
Weber's Go-Anywhere gas grill adds convenience to the fun of camping and tailgating. This compact unit has a surprisingly generous grilling area--large enough to fit four medium steaks. The push-button ignition system makes lighting the fire easier than ever, and the patented heat-distributing Flavorizer bar ensures that your food cooks evenly and efficiently every time.

You can lock the lid into place with the pivoting legs and carry this lightweight grill around in one hand. Built-in lid hangers allow you to rest the lid on the side of the grill to create an effective barrier against the wind. The triple-nickel-coated steel grate is easy to clean, and the porcelain-enameled steel lid and cooking box are built to last.

5 out of 5 stars BBQ on the Go   July 3, 2008
Right out of the box it was grilling at Bonnaroo. It was easy to use, convenient and the hit at the concert. No major flare ups, compact/portable and even temperature. What else could you want.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Portable Grill!!!   June 29, 2008
The key point with this grill is to remember that it is a portable gas grill. It is not designed to perform in the same league as the larger gas grills. In this class of grills, it would be tough to beat. The parts are much more rugged and the support is simply unbeatable with Weber.

I have a large Weber gas grill that I use at the house and have been extremely satisfied with it. This portable grill works great on fishing, hunting, camping and beach trips. It folds up compactly and is easy to transport. Simply put, I will only buy Weber for here on out after owning many others(Char-Broil, Thermos, Charm Glow). When I had those, I didn't realize that there was as big of a difference in the pricier Webers as there is. Generally speaking, they heat much more evenly and quicker (often with lower BTU ratings) than the competition.

The igniter works great on this grill. It just requires being set up properly (takes ~1 minute to do). I take it that many of the reviewers that were having problems simply bolted it all together without adjusting the gap between the electrode and the burner.

If you are looking for a lightweight, simple to use portable gas grill this one fits the bill perfectly. Happy Grilling!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Grille   June 18, 2008
This grill is all the the other reviews say it is. I find it amazing that the flavor of the food is similar to that of a charcoal grill. We've been using it for about a month now and it is easy to cook on and cooks fast. The only drawback is that the gas cartridge only lasts about 2 or 3 uses. I highly recommend it! You can't go wrong for the price!

5 out of 5 stars SOOOO Happy   May 27, 2008

I looked at cheaper models at Walmart, Target and Sears and didn't want a heavy grill like the Q. I walked with this grill, a chair and a cooler for 1/2 a mile and it wasn't a problem at all. No big bag of charcoal to lug around or lighter fluid. The standard propane tank fits just fine. A really nice feature about this little guy is the "flavor tray" that lets you put wood chips to add flavor to the food. This was really fun and I had a nice smoke flavor on the fish that I tried out.

The construction of this grill is very solid, much nicer than any of the 20-30 grills and also better than imitation grills at Sears. The united is thick coated porcelain like most weber grills and the actual grill is heavy and thick. The starter works well and the stand is solid and sturdy. This is not supposed to be a replacement for a "real" grill but it's a great traveling, camping picnic grill. I chose this over the Q because its much more portable and I already had a larger Grill that needed to be lugged around. A BIG 5 STARS! Its the grill that saved Memorial Day!

3 out of 5 stars Heavier than air   April 23, 2008

For all of the poor grillers who can't get the spark lighter to work, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Propane is heavier than air. If that doesn't make a light go on, then just try adjusting the probe from the Prezo lighter a tiny bit lower. That will get the spark into the escaping fuel, and it'll light every time. If it doesn't, you don't have it adjusted properly.

I'm on my second Weber Go-Anywhere gas grill. I'm on my second Flavorizer plate in the second grill, and I know that eventually I'll have to get a new gas valve, too. I use it three to five times a week. I've grilled for six at one time (but that's pushing it). Yup, the comments about the low heating power and uneven heat are justified. You are not going to blacken a steak with this grill if used according to instructions. Obviously, using it as much as I do, I think it is a good product. After a while you'll get the hang of it. You might even get to the point where you can use the uneven heat to advantage. This grill is more of a smoker than a char-broiler. So, it's a different type of grilling. I use a 20 pound propane tank, but you can get 10 pound and 5 pound tanks. The latter is perfect for a picnic or a camping trip (as long as you can carry it in a safe place). Weber did change the handles from wood to plastic. The wood, while flamable, never got too hot on my first grill. The plastic/ceramic handles on my second grill get as hot as a space shuttle tile on reentry, and are a perfect example of what happens when something that isn't broke is fixed.

The Weber Go-Anywhere is far from perfect, but is very efficient, and with the price of propane, I think it is a useful appliance for the money. Just don't expect to flame broil.
