Product Description
In fewer than five years, Rachael Ray has radically changed the way America cooks dinner. Her perky-girl-next-door swagger, her catchphrases for techniques, and her dinner ideology of simpler, less expensive and just in time have sold billions of books and placed her at the top of the talent heap of food television personalities.Pioneered by F??ri, the East/West knife is a combination of cook's knife and chopper. Professional high performance food prep knife designed for maximum functionality, for chefs and gourmet home cooks.F??ri Rachael Ray Gusto-Grip is made from the finest German CrMoV stainless steel, forged bolster, one-piece with blade, and strong tang for supreme strength. The patented* F??ri ???reverse-wedge' shape handle prevents your hand from slipping forward even when wet or oily. The harder you cut the more the handle of the knife locks into your hand, makMade from the finest German CrMoV stainless steel for the ideal combination of edge retention, ease of sharpening and corrosion resistance. 1 out of 5 stars Furi knife has poor drsign   August 21, 2007

I bought a set of these knives for my wife. She used the large knife to slice a yam and the handle broke right off. the steel shank that goes into the cheep plastic handle measures about a quarter inch square and snapped under normal use. What a poor design! We use the remaining knives very gently for fear of breaking them also. The Limited Lifetime warrenty is totally worthless because there is no-one who you can go to to try to get a replacement or repair. I will never buy a Furi product again

5 out of 5 stars Great Knife set   May 20, 2007
I bought these knives for my wife, mainly because she is a huge Rachel Ray fan. These knives are terrific. They are very sharp, come in a nice block, and the handles are very comfortable. My wife is a petite 5', so the rubbarized, conformed grips fit her hands perfectly.

5 out of 5 stars Great Knives   January 12, 2007

These knives have a good feel to them. They are very sharp and I expect they will last a long time. Okay the packaging was a little cheep looking, but that has already been thrown away.
I give the knife set 5 Stars.

5 out of 5 stars Not cheap   August 30, 2006

I own Rachael Ray's 3 piece knife set; they are great; sturdy, sharp, wonderfully weighted. They are "Australian designed hardened German stainless steel". The bamboo box is not of great quality and maybe that was made in China.

1 out of 5 stars Cheaply Made   June 27, 2006

I tried this knife at Sur La Table at the Furi demo. They appeared to be very sharp. However I did not like these knives for the following reasons

1) I dont care much for the cheap plastic-like orange handles

2) The finish on the knives appear to be cheap. Furi implies that these knives are made in Germany. However they are cheaply "Made in China". Now generally I dont care that much .. everything is now made in China anyways.. But when I am paying so much money for a product, I was hoping it was made in Germany or USA.

3) The case is even more cheaply made.

Personally, I would wait for a sale on the Global or the Wustof knives.
