4 out of 5 stars Wow, it really works   June 17, 2008
I am very pleased with this product. It made two perfect (albeit small) cups of cappuccino the first time we used it. We did watch the DVD first, which is identical to the instruction manual but I'm a visual learner. We follow the instructions explicitly and have not had any problems with leaking, etc.

5 out of 5 stars Simplicity Prevails!   June 12, 2008
This item does take some practice. I learned to take it apart and clean both sides of the seals every time. It seems cumbersome, but it only takes a minute. This product has very few moving parts and is therefore simple to clean and maintain. I've used it every day for about 6 months. The only downfall I see in quality is the inability to control the frothiness of the milk/capucino. This minor inconvenience is a small price to pay for having the ease of putting it on the stove and having capucino within 5 or 10 minutes. This is definitely the capucino maker for those with a busy schedule. BTW, it beats the product of a certain large coffee chain hands down.

4 out of 5 stars Very cool!   May 22, 2008
I really enjoy this item. I've used it several times already. I have had some issues with it spilling over in the cappuccino setting for some reason. I think I've narrowed it down to too many coffee grounds. Other than that, it's great! Coffee tastes better than brewed in a regular pot and it really does foam the milk and everything. And it does it all in half the time!

2 out of 5 stars I have had it with this messy thing!   May 15, 2008
Hi,
I've purchased Mukka Express notwithstanding some of the negative reviews. I thought maybe I end up like the viewers who have had luck with this thing.
It makes really good cappuccino, but this comes with a price!!! A lot of mess!!!!
I make everything like the intstructions tells me, in fact, it did not make one single mess the first time i made it... and the first time should be the trial and error, were we should be making mistakes! After i made it the first time, which is supposed to be discarded anyways, I felt really satisfied that it worked for me! Little did i know that it will be literally the last time it will behave like that!
Not only I follow the instructions to the T, i put a little LESS liquied. My problem is not with the milk, actually soy milk, that i put on the top... that part is NEVER the problem, the problem is between the top part and the bottom part were you screw them together. And yes, I screw them together very tightly! Coffee ALWAYS manages to escape from the middle while it's on the stove. and i'm not talking about one or two drops, i'm talking about half of the liquied on the bottom portion... all flowing on the stove! And yes, the heat is on Medium. This creates a lot of mess, it's not even worth it! My stove will saturate with coffee liquied and before i start to enjoy what's left of the cappuccino, i go through the hastle of cleaning and heartache.
I would've thought that there's a problem with the fennel and the gasket seal not perfectly fitting the heater unit, but if that was the case, then I would've had a problem with spillage since the beggining!! But like I mentioned earlier, the first time i made it was perfect! No mess, the perfect foam! Two weeks later and i still have my fingers crossed every time I put it on the stove. I even start to put the flames on low, put less water, put less soy milk, I make sure no coffee ground on the rim. I do it with the exact same method I did it the first time and in every time, i get a freaking messy stove and messy pot and i'm just sick of it! No customer service to talk to, nothing! I know some viewers will write that: "it's no brainer." "Follow the instructions." blah blah blah. I would say that you are blessed with one that works! Plain and simple. Mine is a peice of junk. I was tooooo generous when I gave this two stars. But I have to be fair though, because even after I clean and get stressed for a while, I end up enjoying the cappuccino. The cleaning is easy, too.

4 out of 5 stars great Cappuccino with convenience.....   May 14, 2008
After reading all the reviews, was a bit hesitant in ordering this cappuccino express maker, arrived in a few days, packed well and found it a great buy at 49.99 brand new without the original box. Making sure I followed the directions, had absolutely no problems making the first pot of coffee. Was excellant even though they say to discard the first three pots. Use it daily at times two times a day, and each time the Cappuccino has turned out perfecty. I do make sure I clean the top pump by rinsing it under hot water immediatly after brewing a pot so as no milk can dry and clog the piece. My only negative complaint is that I wish it were stainless steel rather than aluminum. Holds up better, and then the aluminum really mars up a porcelain sink so be care and make sure that you lay it on something to protect the sink. I definetly recommend this product to those who love a good quality Cappuccino that is as good if not better than Starbucks at a fraction of the price. Yes, make sure you do not heat it too fast or too high and after it brews the coffee and milk you can wait until the steaming sound stops, the coffee is nice and hot. Lots of froth, produces two 7 oz cups which is just fine for after dinner enjoyment etc. I defintely will be hoping this company comes out with an upgraded model, maybe large and in stainless and would be willing to pay the additional expense. It would pay for itself in no time with the savings from having to go to a retail coffee shop and the cost of gas consumed these days to get there. Like with anything else, if you follow directions and take care of a product, you should have no problems and it will last a long time.
