I cook primarily on weekends and for family gatherings. I bought this cookware 3 yrs ago and it has done very well. I use it on a gas cooktop. It heats very evenly and I am usually using low heat with good results. Clean-up hasn't been a problem. Occasionally, I use Bon Ami on the saute pans to brighten them up. I have recommended this set to friends and would buy it again.

I have to agree with the reviewer who found these pots very hard to keep clean. Or perhaps my expectations were too high because of the name attached to this product. The stir fry pans especially get grease stains very easily that just do not come off, even with a gritty cleansing powder. I did not think that they would stay as beautiful as they were out of the box forever, but they looked many years old after the first use. The heat is even, however. And, I am pleased with the overall performance. The only pot that I have trouble balancing is the small fryer. The handle seems a little too heavy for the pot on my gas range top.

There is a review posted here that says the bottom of a stainless and copper pot "melted while boiling water". This defies the laws of physics! Water cannot go above 212 degrees F at sea level. Copper melts at 1986 F and stainless at 2550 F. So empty pot at least, spells abuse but can a electric burner hit even the lower 1981 degrees F? I don't think so. This is just plain bogus. Either that or this person is cooking in a metallurgical lab or was using a lead pot! People should not post such nonsense.

We got these as a gift several years ago and have enjoyed them up until the incident. While boiling water the bottom of the small pot came off! The slag holding the bottom of the pan of melted! We have an electric stove! I now have a very nice piece of modern art, I guess. I really wish these had been made better, I guess we will have to be more careful in the future with our very delicate pots and pans from Emril.

The Emerilware 8" pan and small sauce pan that comes with the set are not designed properly because they are not properly balanced and tip very easily, even on a flat counter top. My sauce pan, which had some hot liquid in it, flipped over when the handle was lightly touched. Luckily, no one was hurt. Also, the bottom of the saute pan turned brown after the first use, even though I was just heating tea and nothing was burned.
