Stylistically very modern, this 50-ounce decanter turns wine pouring into a work of art. In practical terms, the broad, flat bowl creates a wide surface area providing plenty of air exposure for red wine to breathe. In artistic terms, the long thin neck cut in a slanted spout begs to be picked up and admired. Not a wine fan? Use the decanter as a vase for a single spectacular blossom. Made of Luminarc's amazingly tough, break-resistant glass, the decanter is technically dishwasher-safe, although because of the unusual shape, it is best washed by hand.

The sparkling clear decanter complements the stemware in the Vinery collection, which includes balloon- and tulip-shaped wine glasses, as well as Champagne flutes. Made in France for ARC International, Vinery is just one component of Luminarc, a brand known for its brightly colored and durable dinnerware, designed to be fun as well as practical for everyday living. --Ann Bieri
