Rosenthal's TAC 02 dinnerware takes its inspiration and name from the original designs of renowned architect Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus movement and later The Architects' Collaborative (TAC) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Epitomizing Gropius's love of clean, modern forms free of ornamentation, TAC 02 is all-white (with tea service pieces also produced in black), streamlined, and a compelling blend of curves and angles. The collection is indicative of Rosenthal's commitment to excellent design.

Similar in shape to the classic TAC 02 teapot, the 8-1/2-ounce creamer resembles an upside-down teacup, slightly modified to accommodate the graceful spout. The low-swept, bent-elbow handle on the other side adds balance, and the recessed foot creates an intriguing floating effect. The same elements are found on the matching sugar bowl, teapot, and coffee pot for a coordinated modernist look. Like all TAC 02 pieces, the creamer is crafted from fine, semi-translucent porcelain that is conveniently safe for both the microwave and dishwasher. --Ann Bieri
