The defining characteristic of Villeroy & Boch's Octavie design is a uniquely cut detail on the base of the glass bowl. Raised diamond-pointed bumps aligned diagonally in a gradually diminishing pattern create this stylish feature adding elegance and interest. Additionally, the detail catches and reflects light for a sparkling appearance. As evidenced by a comfortable weightiness, this glass comprises 24 percent full lead crystal and stands 9 inches in height. The long fluted bowl concentrates the aroma of any champagne or sparkling wine and carries a 6-3/4-ounce capacity. Slender and faceted, the stem measures 3 inches and flares slightly as it travels to its base. The glass opening enables comfortable sipping with a thin rim. Appropriate for casual or more formal affairs--and ideal as a housewarming or shower gift--this interesting and elegant glassware works well with any dinnerware.
