The Vinum Extreme collection takes the classically shaped wine glass a step further by showcasing large volume, diamond shaped bowls, with slightly more intense angles than the traditionally rounded glasses. The decanter follows along in this vein by featuring a bowl that protrudes outward, lacking a rounded slope. Most wine connoisseurs recommend decanting aged red wines directly before serving in order to prevent any sediment from obscuring the wine's clarity and brilliance. Riedel also suggests decanting young wines several hours before serving to gives them a chance to fully bloom.
