Put a chill in the air with Iittala's Ultima Thule glassware. Glimmering with clear, textured surfaces, the organic collection evokes wintry water images like cascading icicles or a frost-laced window. This 8-inch bowl makes a striking statement in the dining room or on the bar. With a clean, precision-cut rim, the body features low walls and a pleasantly rounded shape accented by bubbles of glass around the bottom that look as if they might drip right off. Three small round feet hold the vessel off the table-so the glass looks wet, but your table stays dry. From serving tossed salad to mixed nuts, a busy entertainer will want plenty of these bowls on hand. Each piece is crafted in a wood mold and obtains its own unique markings in the glass-blowing process. Despite its elegant appearance, the bowl goes conveniently into the dishwasher.
