Product Description
Weber, 5 Piece Stainless Steel Replacement Flavorizer Bar, For Genesis Silver B & C & Spirit 700 Gas Grills.

Amazon.com Review
What exactly are Flavorizer bars, you ask? They're a key feature of Weber's gas grills. By placing these long-lasting stainless-steel bars under your cooking grate, just above the heat source, you can impart mouthwatering flavor to meats. Their juices vaporize and turn into smoke when they drip onto the specially angled heated bars, so you won't lose a lick of cooking flavor. --Rhonda Langdon

5 out of 5 stars Weber Genesis flavorizer bars   October 1, 2007

My original bars rusted out in 5 years. These new stainless steel bars are much better quality. I expect they will outlast the BBQ. I would recommend replacing the old ones if they are rusted out because it causes flare ups and uneven temps.

4 out of 5 stars replacing bars   September 2, 2007

I owned my grill for about 5 years before finally breaking down and buying new bars. However there is guy on ebay selling these bars which are of a higher gauge (thicker) steel (16ga) than the weber ones (18ga). I ordered them, which were just about the same price, and noticed they are much heavier and well made. The guy must work with steel and felt, like me, that the ones he got with grill could be better so he made his own and starting selling them. Searh for rcplanebuyer as the sellername.

5 out of 5 stars 5 stars so far.   May 31, 2007
The weber site provides a quick identification of the part numbers needed for your grill.

Bars are stainless and quite heavy. Anticipating they will last longer than the originals (not stainless) which rusted out after about 4 years. Noticably less grease flameup as it seems to run off well. We had multiple grease fires cooking chicken before the replacement and none after.

These were also available at the local home improvement store for the same price, but if you're not in a hurry, free delivery is a convenient option.

3 out of 5 stars Stainless Steel will Still rust out! Just takes longer...   May 16, 2007

Please be warned, fellow Weber grill-heads. These Stainless bars are 5 times better than those horrible porcelain enameled steel ones, but they WILL rust, warp and crumble...I guarantee it. My original SS bars on my Weber Gold B lasted into the 5th season before all of a sudden they got all warped and began to collapse. Upon inspection I realized that they were corroded so badly they literally crumbled in my hands.

If you want a better solution, check this out: There is a metal fabricator guy in Burlingame California who makes these bars out of the same stainless steel, only about 30% thicker and heavier. And for the same price delivered as what these factory Weber bars will cost you. I expect to get 7 or 8 seasons out of these thicker bars for the same cost and I grill 2-3 times a week on average almost all year round.

Grill on....

He sells on Ebay under the name rcplanebuyer.
