Cheerful red trim outlines the pieces, providing a tidy edging for this romantic pattern. Generously shaped, the 5-piece place setting is a perfect starter or extra setting for impromptu guests. Both the 8-1/4-inch salad plate and 10-1/2 inch dinner plate feature large serving areas with sweetly scalloped borders. The versatile soup/cereal bowl, measuring 4-5/8 inches across, rests on a small round foot and flares slightly at the rim. The 6-3/4-ounce teacup also sits prettily with a large comfortable handle, and the 6-inch saucer matches the plates in shape. Never out of style October 21, 2008
There is something satisfying about eating a meal off of beautiful dishes. This was the first real china I ever bought and I spent a lot of time looking around first. A wonderful department store sales lady steered me towards these ("Petit Fleur pattern is guaranteed to be in production for the next XX years and don't think that doesn't matter") and away from the Portmeirion ("only if you like chipped dishes"). These are surprisingly durable and I never get tired of the simple pattern. Villeroy & Boch is not bargain basement stuff but it looks like Amazon has good deals.
