This shed is a good bang for the buck May 26, 2008
A short and sweet review:

- the shed is actually 12.5' long, and quite roomy inside
- I broke some rules putting it together, including not making a foundation, not putting down a vapor barrier, and not getting any help
- from start to finish, it took a little under six hours to put together, and all I used was one of those folding ladders and literally a handful of basic tools (two screwdrivers, a wrench, and vise grips, that's it!)

I would give this shed five stars if the floor had a few more points to screw together, and if there was a little cross-bracing for the two main walls (they move a little bit). I'll probably address both of these issues as/if needed, but having that extra material in the kit would've been much nicer, instead of the shutters, planters, and cupola which I have no use for.

Last but not least, this building will effectively pay for itself within about a year, vs. the cost of renting (and driving to/from) a storage unit.

Bottom line - highly recommended.

If you are in the market for a vinyl or resin type storage building, this is certainly one worth looking at. There are not a lot of reviews posted on this shed at the present, so take your time and do your homework before choosing any of them. I would advise a visit to your local Lowes or Home Depot to look at vinyl buildings first handed. Regarding building the shed, I built my Suncast 10' x 12' on a 3/4" exterior grade, treated plywood platform and 2" x 6" lumber as opposed to a concrete slab. I used "Dek Blocks" to support the platform, which really made the job easy to level and very strong. I used 27 blocks in total or 3 Dek-Blocks per 10' joist. Making sure the platform is square and dead level is key to building this shed. If you do a good job on the base, the assembly of the shed is really quite simple and even rewarding when completed. Most of the shed snaps together which I found unusual. That concerned me with regards to durability but I have certainly overcome that comfort level. The parts are indeed well built, extremely precise and although some of the parts seem to be quite flimsy out of the box "mainly the walls", once the assembly is completed and all tied together, the shed is really quite sturdy. I followed my own intuition regarding the building of the platform as I found Suncast's instructions quite poor in that area. Common sense will help you through that. Personally, I like the Royal Winchester storage building a tad more as the side walls and roof panels are built using 2" thick material honeycomb resin panels. This building is very solid! The Winchester shed which measures 8' x 10' is sold at your local Lowes. I did not choose this shed as the extension kit to make it 10' x 12' was way too expensive. Nice Shed! Assembly not so nice! June 21, 2007

This is a very nice size shed. Looks great, and appears to hold up well to weather. We've had some very heavy downpours without a drop in the shed. Assembly was quite tricky though. Some of the parts, were actually bent and or warped to an extreme. This required some real ingenuity to get the parts together. I would recommend that you assemble it in somewhat cool weather. The hot sun will make it more warped.

The Pergola was strictly for cosmetic effect. If installed, it also takes away a good chunk of your overhead light that streams through. Extremely difficult to align correctly, so we finally gave up and did not add it. Looks just as nice without it, and saved us quite a headache!

You ABSOLUTELY need 2 people to assemble this shed. Especially when assembling the roof sections. Plan on a full weekend to complete assembly.

Finally, you will need to have a base for this shed, either wood, cement, or blocks. It clearly states in the instructions that your warranty is void if it is not placed on a solid base. Yes it shows it on the ground, but figure at least another few hundred bucks for the base, depending of course, on what material you choose.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the look and size. Also, the shutters, and window boxes are actually a nice touch. They look very nice with some trailing flowers!

The shed is great. Easy to build, sturdy, and convenient. No worries about leaking or rot. This shed gives a great space at a great price. Compared to other vinyl options from the local do it your self stores, this unit is cheaper for more space. I recommend it for anyone without a basement or attice like myself or for the person that needs alot of yard storage. Can't go wrong with the purchase.
