Can opener won't work October 5, 2008
My first electric can opener wore out after about 20 years. So I bought a new Oster 3147 can opener to solve the problem. This can opener does not work any better than the 20 year old can opener I threw away.

The Oster Metallic Can Opener is efficient and quiet. It also looks good on the counter. I like not having to keep my hand on the lever while opening, just start it and it will stop automatically and the magnet will grab the lid. An opener that does what it says it will do!

This can opener has opened Costco's canned chicken that thwarted more than one handheld opener (i.e. Kitchenaid). It's not lightening fast, but what's the big deal? It takes a few seconds to open a large can, while saving my wrists and the minutes I used to spend. Haven't used the knife sharpener yet. Love the built-in space for tucking away the extra cord in back. The metallic design is clean and looks nice on the counter.

I needed a new can opener and this one is a great buy. Runs smooth and makes very little noise which makes the family happy.

I was worried about buying this online without a review but boy am I glad I did. I wanted the stainless steel look first of all and I got more than I wished for.

I know I sound like a geek getting all excited about a can opener but compared to the Black and Decker one I had that took forever to get it to line-up and open a can plus the noise on it, this one is a dream.

The magnet on it searches for the top, you don't have to stand on one foot and hold one arm up at the same time to get it to line-up. Plus one of the nicest features is that it puts crinks in the top of the can, so when you throw away the top it's not sharp. I worry about that since my dog loves to get in the trash can, I'm afraid she'll cut herself.

Plus this can opener is so quiet. For those who have animals who come running when they hear the can opener running this is a nice reprieve. I haven't tried the knife sharpener yet but I have high hopes. This is a must for anyone looking for a can opener!
