3 out of 5 stars Great chair for the Money   September 9, 2008
This chair is of decent quality.... Not great, but pretty solid and well made. It has a few minor imperfections, but for the price of under $100.00, it can't be beat. I have seen comparable chairs for three times the price. Good value.

4 out of 5 stars A Bargain   September 3, 2008
A well made steamer chair. It doesn't have the solid brass hardware of the more expensive teak models but it is sturdy and durable.

5 out of 5 stars Well-priced quality chair   August 29, 2008
I ordered the chair about a month ago along with four matching folding chairs (those don't seem to be available as of this writing). These chairs have several great qualities:

- They fold and can be put away for storage during the winter (one of my purchasing criteria)
- They were priced much better than comparable chairs (less than half the price in some cases)
- They are very sturdy and feel completely durable
- They are made of kapur wood which is as durable as teak but considered a more sustainably harvested wood (bonus!)
- There was no assembly required

The only quabbles:
- The steamer is a bit tricky to maneuver when folding/unfolding. The other chairs don't have that problem.
- The packaging was terrible: there was so much cardboard and styrofoam to dispose of I actually had to haul it away rather than attempt to stuff in my recycle bins. Styrofoam shouldn't even be used.

Regardless, it was one of the best buys I've made in a long time on Amazon and in general.

5 out of 5 stars Steamer Chair supurb   August 28, 2008
The chair is fine and met our expectations. It is comfortable, easy to fold and a nice size. It is a fine choice. We have it on our wrap around deck which is narrow but the chair fits fine. I bought a second one after being more than satisfied with the first.

2 out of 5 stars Nice product EXCEPT for serious repeat problem...   May 28, 2008
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

I ordered 4 of these nice looking chairs. As is usual with Amazon they arrived amazingly fast -on the second business day.I'd ordered them even though I'd read the review by someone whose chairs were damaged upon arrival. My chairs arrived in cheapo packaging. I decided to open them right away even tho I didn't have time to set them up yet. Immediately hardware and wood splinters fell out of one box...obviously that one was going to be returned. I removed the other 3 and found that another one was broken - same hardware was falling off and wood splintered. The other 2 looked OK so I set them aside (without assembling them). A few days later when it was time to set up the chairs, as soon as I unfolded them I found that a third chair was broken in the very same place - where the footrest hardware is attached. Called amazon - got replacement chairs ordered and one of those was broken (you guessed it) in the same place. The two good ones are nice, but WHAT a hassle!!! Amazon is a class act so they need to clamp down on the manufacturer (in Vietnam, apparently) to fix the repeat defect.
