Professional Iron setup by Rowenta December 23, 2007
I bought this iron myself and then one of my daughters sent me the ironing board with the rack to hold it. I use them all the time with my sewing and quilting and just love them! What more can I say?

Finding this item December 2, 2007
My daughter has the DG-980 and it's the best way to do ironing. I love this product so much, that I actually go to her home and help her with the ironing. Rowenta discontinued the DG-980, and they replaced it with the DG5030. I recently purchased the new model DG5030 for my daughter-in-law and I was not impressed. I would like to get one for myself, but I will not get the new model. I know of a couple of friends who also purchased the new model and are not satisfied with it. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase the DG-980? (even a refurbished one) Thanks!

Quit working-no support from Rowenta August 29, 2007

This iron was great for about a year, then it started to spit and leak water. It quit working soon after that. Rowenta just did not care-the warranty was for one year. The iron is too expensive to last just this long.

This is now my THIRD Rowenta Steam Generator Iron. After only 5 months, this one stopped working too. It gets quite expensive to keep returning these. If it's out of warranty, then the cost to repair is more than the cost of a new one. Oh, how I miss my Euro Pro......

We ordered this item when our last steam generator(not Rowenta brand)broke down after a year. This was pricey but since we were already hooked on the steam generator we took the plunge. We like the long steam cord, removable water resevior, and the amount of steam generated that reduces ironing time. We hope this product will last longer than the one before.
