Made of durable, 18/10 stainless steel, this cover is designed specifically for Scanpan Classic stir-fry pans. The high dome shape sends moisture back into the pan and prevents splatters, while the large phenolic-resin knob is easily grasped with a potholder. The brightly polished finish stands up to dishwasher-cleaning, but is best kept out of the oven. Scanpan makes the stainless lid in several sizes.

In response to environmental concerns regarding nonstick finishes, Scanpan in 2007 introduced its Green Tek nonstick technology. Working with its suppliers, Scanpan is the first cookware company to completely eliminate the use of the harmful chemical PFOA from the entire process used to make its nonstick compound. The new PFOA-free nonstick finish is now found on all Scanpan Classic and Professional cookware. Scanpan covers its cast-aluminum cookware with a full lifetime warranty. --Ann Bieri

Fits my 14" Calphalon pan well enough to simmer foods. Domed to allows for food to rise and not stick to the lid but it takes up quite a bit of storage space.

It's hard to find lids this size at a reasonable price. Although some might have trouble storing such a large dome-shaped lid, that was not a problem for me. I also like that it is stainless steel, hence more durable, as opposed to aluminum.

Quite a good deal for the money. I needed a 14" SS lid and they are hard to find reasonably priced. This lid is rounded high and actually looks like a wok lid but serves my purpose perfectly. I use it to make seafood fra diablo and other dishes that sort of rise out of the pan a little so a flat or less rounded lid would not work. This does the trick. It's light and has a round plastic handle which stays cool so you can pick up the lid comfortablly for stirring or adding other ingredients. However, this is the second one I've purchased as I dropped the first one and the round plastic handle broke off. Don't know if it was a fluke or a weakness in construction. Overall I am very happy with the lid. Very functional and gets used a lot.
