Nice, but not customizable January 14, 2008
Very nice product. Gives frequent temperature updates. Seemless wireless transmission.
I have two complaints:
1. The audio is very irritating (it gives verbal alerts every degree for the last five)
2. You cannot add your own temperature settings. So, you are stuck with the preprogrammed setting which do not cover things like casseroles, etc.

A must have for both kitchen and grill January 12, 2008
I love this device and use it almost every day. I no longer worry about over or under cooked meats. I find it easy to use and have rarely had to change the batteries over the last year and a half. Do not forget to press the reset buttons under the battery doors on both transmitter and receiver after there is a battery change or you may have trouble receiving a signal as I did. The customer service at Weber sorted it out immediately and once again I could not be happier with this thermometer. Great product and highly recommended.

Great Thermometer December 1, 2007

Unlike a pervious reviewer, I love this themometer. The previous review tried to test his grill and smoker temperature, but this is not what this product is for, it is a Meat thermometer. The reviewer also was upset about the temperature being preset, but those temperatures are the preset temperatures for food safety and quality. Ever since I got this thermometer I have said goodbye to burned meat and dried out chicken and pork. I love this thermometer, and when I accidently immersed the probe in water and broke it, Weber sent me a new one free. This is a great product by a great company.

My first one was returned to my local hardware store. My second one works great with an occasional "blip" from the satellite unit. But I use it for the meat on my Weber Grill, not as a thermometer for the grill itself, like another reviewer on these pages. Duh! Trust me, it works.

Great Grill - Good thermometer! August 15, 2007

Had some trouble in the start - but had a bad battery or two in both units (sender and receiver). Once I solved that, it works fine as advertised. May need to get the receiver/transmittor close together for initial contact, but I then have used it up on my second story appartment in the kitchen to keep track of meat on the grill. Would like to be able to set my own temps (beef has multiple settings, but not pork or others) but it can be paused on the beeping to continue to cook to higher temps. Overall - I love it! Sending one as a gift now!
