The Gentle Leader SpraySense Collar uses patented SprayLogik technology to deliver a harmless burst of citronella spray to interrupt your dogs barking. It acts on four of your dog's five senses - he hears it, sees it, feels it and smells it. Citronella is a unique scent that most dogs don't normally encounter. It's non-offensive to humans yet unusual enough to distract your dog and interrupt the unwanted behavior. Shock and ultra-sonic collars attempt to reduce barking with pain. In addition to being less effective than spray, pain often increases anxiety and aggression and makes some behavior problems worse. When to use: The Gentle Leader SpraySense Collar can be used with any breed of dog that weighs 6 lbs. or more and is at least 6 months old. I was unsure how well this product would work on my beagle, but so far it's perfect. My beagle is very skittish around sprays, and he has quieted down a lot with this. Fortunately, I have the one beagle in the world who doesn't bark anyway, but I was having problems with crying and howling because of seperation anxiety stemming from a recent move.

I'd definitely say that everyone should give this product a try!

I was pleasantly surprised with this collar. The first night I put it on our dog there was one bark and then quiet the rest of the night. It completely broke her of the barking. That was a couple weeks ago. Now we don't have to put it on her any more and she is still quiet. Great product!

This collar works like a charm. I put it on my 6 month old toy poodle and he stopped barking immediately. He barked once, got sprayed and never barked again - while he was wearing the collar. Now when I put it on him, he knows what it is and doesn't even bother to bark once so he doesn't get sprayed at all. I highly recommend this product. It is miraculous. It is much easier and more humane than the shock collars. I would never use one of those.

The product worked okay to deter barking but I am glad that I was at home when it malfunctioned!
My dog came dashing under my desk and she was pawing feverishly at her face and I could smell the citronella...the stupid collar was continually spraying! I couldn't get it to stop!
I put my had over it to stop it from getting into her eyes and I pulled the collar off. I had to take the battery out to stop the spray!
I will NEVER use a training collar again, imagine if it was an electronic shock collar that malfunctioned like this???
I felt so bad...so guilty.

The collar doesn't seem to work for small dogs with high pitched barks. When I put the collar on my small dog, it seemed to work when she growled; however when she barks it does not work. Unfortunately to teach a dog not to bark the collar needs to be consistent with the behavior.
