When dividing a cake into two or three layers, precision is a must, but doing so without the right tool can leave you with one layer taller than the other or one big crumbled mess. I really like the size of the Wilton cake levelor. Since it is 18", it will cut a much larger cake than the smaller version. It also seems to be very sturdy. This is going to be a very well used decorating tool in the kitchen.
