A sophisticated alternative to those pudgy plastic honey bears, this honey dispenser releases a thin drizzle of honey into your tea or steamed milk or on top of toast, hot cereal, pancakes or cornbread. The dispenser is made of glass, not plastic, with an attractive honeycomb relief. The ensemble comes in three parts: a stainless-steel lid, a glass honey container, and a glass stand. When you press the spring trigger, which is attached to the lid, honey flows from the glass nipple at the bottom of the dispenser. Release the trigger and an inner stopper mechanism closes to prevent drips. Keep the inside of the stand honey-free, and avoid overfilling the container. To prevent honey from forming a crust at the bottom, limiting the flow, rinse the glass nipple after use. To liquefy congealed honey, run warm water over the glass. best kept secret February 13, 2008
THE ONLY TRICK to this is to fill the base with a little hot water- the honey flows out fast and easy- I am a resturant owner- we serve lots of hot teas- this is the talk of the town- all other methods of serving honey were a disater!- this one saves our day!

Honey Dispenser January 18, 2008

I like the honey dispenser for its non-drip feature. However, it's a little tricky to fill because you have to hold a fingertip over the opening on the bottom. Then you have to put down the bottle or jar you are filling from and insert and screw tight the top of the honey dispenser while your fingertip is still covering the bottom hole. After the plunger is in place, you can move your finger. Also, the top appears to be chrome or some kind of metal in the picture. Not true. It's a silver-tone plastic. I was very disappointed about this, but it probably explains why the instructions recommend hand washing. Dishwasher detergent is very caustic and would probably discolor or chip the faux silver finish. Would I purchase this for a friend? Yes, but I would provide a written set of instructions. There are no instructions on the box or in the box.

Dripless, but... January 4, 2008

I broke the bottom part of this type container (which was my son's) at his house last week when I picked it up by the handle, and the bottom part (which was temporarily stuck to the top by the honey) fell off and shattered on their tile floor. I didn't know that it wasn't supposed to be moved that way, and probably a lot of other people wouldn't know it either, so if you buy one and put it on the table to use, be sure and TELL people to lift it by the base!

Not for honey in the South December 16, 2007
This is, without a doubt, one of the most useless products I have ever purchased. Maybe it works in the north where cold makes honey hard, but here in Houston, where honey stays runny, it's impossible to fill unless it's totally and completely empty (which never happens with honey) so you always end up with a mess no matter what. Mine is going into the trash.

I like the fact that I never ever have honey or maple syrup all over the sides of the container. That means I'm not constantly cleaning sticky pantry shelves anymore. Hooray! I do wish that the top were made of metal rather than plastic, painted to look like metal. It would be nice if the top were dishwasher-safe. With that said, it is a great product.
