Plainly put, this platter is both unusual and lovely. The Naturewood design takes a soft, natural color palette, then adorns it with sketches of leaves and potted herbs such as sage, chives, lemon verbena, and sweet bay (yes, they're labeled). There's also a thin stripe of green with purple and mauve accents around the center rim. The platter is 14 inches long and about 10-1/2 inches wide. The stoneware is safe for use in the microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher. Three-year warranty. --Doree Armstrong

Pfaltzgraff pricing is lower than Amazon.com's June 2, 2007

Pfaltzgraff lists the 14-inch oval platter on their web site as "MSRP: $43.00, Our Price: $39.99." I'm curious as to why Amazon.com, of all places, lists its regular price so much higher and then displays a discounted price that's even higher than the MSRP! So, if you really want to buy this platter online, go to pfaltzgraff.com. Even though they'll charge you shipping, it'll still be cheaper than buying it here.

I've been looking everywhere for this platter to add to my new stoneware -- and of course, I found it on Amazon. I bought the 4-piece placesetting of Naturewood for 8 and was thrilled to complete my purchase with this platter. Everything arrived quickly and safely. I've recommended Amazon for kithchenware purchases to all of my friends!
