Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
With a host of useful attachments, this slender wand takes the place of bulkier appliances. Its mobility allows you to go to the stove to blend a soup or whip potatoes, as needed. Chop onions in the food processing cup, or beat egg whites for a soufflE.

Amazon.com Review
Equipped with an exceptionally powerful 280-watt motor, this versatile appliance is a combination hand mixer and hand blender. For mixing, beating, and whipping, there are two cunningly designed beaters that produce volume while reducing splashing. For kneading, there's a strong dough hook, and for blending, there's an attachment that can be used in the accompanying 2-cup container (or any container) for small jobs like salad dressings. For chopping, the power unit attaches to another container with its own blades to make quick work of nuts, onions, hard cheeses, herbs, garlic, and meats. (The container's base serves as a snap-on plastic lid for storage.) The mixer/blender has three speeds and a power-pulse button for working through tough jobs. It stands upright on a nonskid base, and its power cord pivots to stay out of the way or can be locked in place. This appliance carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

2 out of 5 stars I agree with others: Great while it lasts   May 5, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

While it works, I love this mixer. Feels sturdy, balanced, and doesn't have the little exhaust grill that other handmixers have the collect goo. Except from bread dough, I barely use my stand mixer. The chopper is great for small jobs & salad dressings. The blender I use all the time to puree baby food or soup instead of waiting for it to cool, and getting my blender dirty.

But my SECOND multimix has just stopped working on the 2 low speeds. Each mixer lasted 3-4 years. I'm so disappointed that a Braun appliance has failed not once, but twice. And from the other reviews I've read, this is obviously a common problem that they should have fixed by now!!

5 out of 5 stars AMAZED!   April 22, 2008

I have enjoyed this mixer for well over ten years and it is still working as beautifully as the day my father gave it to me.

For most of those ten years, I mainly used the mixer function as I was not adventurous enough to explore the additional options (and I don't make bread). Fortunately, I eventually did try out the chopper feature. Better late than never! But what REALLY rocks is the mini blender / puree-ing attachment. I recently "discovered" just how amazing it is as my little cat has developed oral cancer and, because she has lost her tongue mobility, I must feed her an almost liquid diet daily by syringe. I ventured to try the blender/pureeing attachment to mix up tuna and boiled chicken (not together!) for her, and cannot rate it highly enough! In this case, it is literally a lifesaver. And it's so easy and quick which is great since sometimes these days, I puree food for her several times a day.

Plus: although I hate washing dishes, I find clean-up of this tool amazingly easy and fast... and never feels like a chore (unlike with my big old heavy blender)!

It also ocurred to me that the blender / puree attachment is a perfect tool for making baby food (my husband and I are expecting our first baby), and I so mentioned this to a friend who has two babies and who makes her own baby food. She was so interested and impressed by what I was telling her about this mixer, that I began to suspect it must really be something special as compared with other such products on the market. So I thought I'd check out the Amazon reviews, and sure enough you all confirmed my hunch, with more than a hundred people awarding it 5 stars... Wonderful! And I couldn't resist adding my own 2 cents worth here...

And I especially wanted to flag it for people preparing food for patients who cannot swallow well.

A few reviewers cautioned that Braun is no longer making this item. I really hope that is not the case, as mine is far from giving up the ghost, but when / if it eventually does, I want another one just like it!

5 out of 5 stars Hand Mixers   April 5, 2008

I read the reviews about the Braun M880 Multimix 4-in 1 Handmixer, and decided to try it over any other brand. I am very happy that I did. It is more than plenty powerful for any thing I put it through and is amazing to watch it do its thing. It is sturdy, good looking, easy to hold and handle and I am extremely proud of it and its manufacturer. Kudo's to Braun!

I love this product. It has a great chopper attachment and the dough hooks are awesome!

4 out of 5 stars Works great!   March 6, 2008
Makes short work of thick batters. This is the first mixer I've had with wire beaters and am very pleased.
