Almost a really good skillet September 13, 2008

The design of this skillet is really quite good. It is deep enough with a very useful control and a nicely domed cover... Unfortunately the attention in detail is very shoddy. The finish on the bottom is rough, the control is hard to insert and the glass in the cover is just silly and one more thing to go wrong. It arrived with two broken parts on the cover since Target shipped it in a box which was hugely too big for the item and it rattled around enough to braek the cover. I would not again order anything to be shipped from Target. However, at 19.99 it is useable for frying when the cover is not needed.

This is a great electric skillet for the price. My stove, sadly, is going down the tubes so I bought this skillet and it's very nice. Heats up quickly and cleans easily. I highly recommend it.

Excellent Skillet for Large or Small Meals August 18, 2008

I purchased this product to use while my family is camping and it has worked great. We've used it for breakfast for cooking eggs, sauage, bacon, and potatoes. It heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and clean up is a breeze. With the non-stick coating, we can just wipe it out, rinse it off, and put it away. Make sure you use plastic cooking utensils only. Steel will damage the coating. Excellent product.

THIS RIVAL ELECTRIC FRYING PAN WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL VALUE AND IS A VERY GOOD ITEM. I AM HAVE PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS THAT RESTRICT MY ACCESS TO THE KITCHEN. I USE THIS FRYING CONTINUALLY. THE HEAT STAYS AT THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE AND FOOD COOKS EVENLY AND IN A TIMELY MANNER. AN ADDED UNEXPECTED FEATURE IS I ALSO USE THE FRYING PAN AS A GRILL AND AS A STEAMER TO HEAT BUNS, ROLLS AND BREAD. THE COOKING SURFACE IS NON-STICK AND REQUIRES LITTLE CLEAN UP.

THE ONLY FEATURE THAT NEEDS A LITTLE MORE WORK IS THE IS THE HANDLES: THEY NEED TO BE LITTLE STRONGER AND THE THE RUBBER TIPS THAT THE PAN STANDS ON SHOULD BE BIGGER AND OF A BETTER NON SLID MATERIAL.

FINALLY, I REPEAT, THIS RIVAL ELECTRIC FRYING PAN IS AN EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCT AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT AND RATE IT A -PLUS.

I bought this skillet to use when we go camping. I like that the lid isn't glass. Cooks very well and the size is just right.
