China-Broken Pieces January 19, 2008
I received the item as a Christmas gift for my daughter. Two plates were broken. I contacted your Customer Service. I found them extremely helpful and they solved my problem immediately. The provided a RMA and free shipping label with 1 hour via e-mail. A replacement set was shipped which arrived in a matter of days. I removed the broken dished, repack the original set and returned them. I expected the worst and got the best. Please thank Patrica F. and Maggie F. for their outstanding service.

Big fat pain and not worth it December 8, 2007

I needed service for twelve and decided to buy three sets of service for four after reading reviews about broken items. I was really glad I did that when all three boxes arrived containing broken dishes, bowls and mugs. I barely managed to cobble together service for eight out of those shipments. Now you can't just send back the broken dishes, you have to return the entire order. I put all the broken china in one box and returned it for a replacement. That arrived with, guess what, more broken dishes. Unfortunately, when I tried to return the replacement order, I received an e-mail from Amazon informing me that it was impossible to "replace an order which replaced a previous order." Uh, ok. The only permissible action was to return the replacement order for a refund. I returned that order for a refund and placed a new order for another service for four. Of course, there were broken dishes in that new order. This time I kept a few of the intact dishes and sent back the broken ones for a replacement. Good thing I did that too because the replacement order contained smashed china and this vicious circle could have gone on forever. I wish I could say that the effort was worth it, but it wasn't. As others have reported, the dishes show black marks from silverware. This happened almost immediately, really looks ugly and is super noticeable. You can get most of these off if you scrub each plate with a scouring pad and "Bartender's Friend" for a good three to five minutes, but that's not exactly what I wanted from an "every day" dish. Unless they are giving it away, keep looking.

Quality that fits the budget March 28, 2007
I actually preferred the Pfaltzgraff Mystic pattern but my oldest dd and her husband gave me a set of the Cappucino for Christmas. A service for 4 is not enough which is why I purchased another set through Amazon. The price was right - even with shipping - this set was cheaper than in local department stores.

First, I'd like to say my order arrived quickly however 2 of the plates were broken. Rather than just send replacement plates, Amazon sent another entire set - which also came with a broken plate so I sent back a set with 3 broken plates. What do they do with these? Why not keep the unbroken items for replacements? It would definitely be cheaper shipping out individual items than entire sets!

As for the dishes - I haven't seen any signs of discolorings as reported by other reviewers. I like that the set is sturdy but after using Corelle for many years it's taken some time to get adjusted to it.

I love the size and shapes of the plates, mugs and bowls. The bowls are deep - perfect for ice cream or cereal and so deep that it eliminates spills. The mugs are easy to handle even with the hottest of beverages inside. And of course, all the pieces are easy to clean.

The color is neutral - goes perfect with my kitchen. Can't wait to add other pieces to it.

Not happy with "silverwear marks" February 27, 2007

I bought a huge set of these, some from Amazon and some from Marshall Fields. Unfortunately, the plates and smaller dishes began to show tons of silvery/gray marks from silverwear almost immediately. I was so dissappointed that I asked at Marshall Fields and the employee said that the glaze is not thick enough on the stoneware and that she had heard similar complaints from others. The only way to get it off (and not even completely) is to scrub them for a long time with "BarKeepers Friend" or a similar powder. I thought I was going to have this set forever, but I'm now shopping for something new. I'm almost embarrassed to serve company with them. The plates are quite big and rather heavy. But the shape of the bowls and cups are nice. Too bad.
