Rosenthal's TAC 02 dinnerware takes its inspiration and name from the original designs of renowned architect Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus movement and later The Architects' Collaborative (TAC) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Epitomizing Gropius's love of clean, modern forms free of ornamentation, TAC 02 is all-white, streamlined, and a compelling blend of curves and angles. The collection is indicative of Rosenthal's commitment to excellent design.

Larger than many dinner plates, the TAC 02 plate measures 11-1/2 inches in diameter and serves as the centerpiece for the complete place setting. The rimless plate rises gently from the center, affording a flat, wide surface to maximize food presentation. Rosenthal crafts the TAC 02 collection, which is perhaps best known for its striking 1969 tea service, from fine, semi-translucent porcelain that is conveniently safe for both the microwave and dishwasher.
