Ideal for vegetables and one pot meals. We use Krona cookware in our test kitchen and at home. It has the best, most even heat conductivity of any cookware we have used. The tri-ply encapsulated cladding ensures superb heat conductivity for rapid, even cooking. Its unique construction sandwiches a layer of aluminum between two layers of stainless steel.

4 out of 5 stars Great concept, but check the diameter   September 4, 2008
I love the concept of this pot - an easy-to-hold handle, glass top, ability to strain and vent, and inside markings. However, I failed to take into account that the small diameter of this pot - 5 inches - makes it unusable on the largest, most powerful burner of my gas range. That burner cover is 4 inches in diameter, and the flame diameter is roughly five inches. As a result, the flame goes up the sides of the pot - bad for the pot and a waste of gas. So, I have to use it on a smaller back burner which puts out fewer BTUs of heat, and it slows down the time it takes to get water to boil.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome little Krona pot   October 11, 2007

I bought this pot to use in my RV. I like it so well, I ordered another one for my home! Perfect size, perfect shape for lots of things.

5 out of 5 stars StoveTop Wonder   May 6, 2007

I love this little pot! The strainer lid makes it so convenient when I'm throwing together quick meals. It also boils very evenly and stands up to daily wear and tear. I keep it on the stovetop at all times, and use it everyday - from oatmeal to rice to frozen peas - it's my little favorite.

5 out of 5 stars Soooo Useful!!!   November 15, 2006

I am giving this product 5 stars even though the quality of the pot and lid isn't the best. But I am willing to ignore the sharp bit of metal sticking out on the lid handle and the slight discoloring of the metal inside the pot because it is soooooo useful. The measuring lines are useful but I particularly like the narrow and tall cylindrical form since it is perfect for heating veges on my 4-burner gas range while I have 2 other wide pans on at the same time taking up lots of space. I love the fact that there are two strainer areas on the lid. You cannot see it well in the photo but the lid rim extends down an inch inside the pot. On one side are two rows of relatively large holes and on the opposing side are three rows of much smaller holes. On the pot rim itself is an indented pourer. So you can align one set or the other of the strainer to the indentation and easily drain the contents. The metal handle on the lid gets hot so you must be careful. I also use this pot to pop popcorn in canola oil. Loosely cover the bottom with one layer of corns in just enough oil and that will give you a full pot without overflowing. I looked for an appropriate stovetop pot to do so but couldn't find any on Amazon. Then I tried to improvise with what I already owned and found this pot was perfect although a bit small. I don't let the heat go too high but the oil easily boils and I pop pot after pot without ever burning the popcorns despite the tallness of the pot and smallness of the base. The strainer on the lid allows heat pressure to escape while also keeping the popping corns confined. 2 pots full of popcorn fill a very large bowl. I am amazed that more companies aren't making this configuration of pot with lid. I wish it also came in a bigger size.

5 out of 5 stars Convenient and cute   March 18, 2006

Although I'm not old, I have mild arthritis, so it's great to find something that is convenient and cute in the kitchen.

I love it because it's lightweight, I can skip reaching down to get the strainer out of the cabinet or reaching up to get the liquid measuring cup, and the handle is easy to hold onto.

The extra height seems to make it easier to keep pasta boiling without it going over, too. Or maybe it's because of the good heat conductivity.

I'm not sure if it might get hard to clean inside the lid in the crevice where the glass meets the metal band with the straining holes. We've had ours about a month, and used it at least a dozen times, and it doesn't seem to be a problem, but we mostly cook pasta, rice and vegetables in it.

I didn't realize that I would really appreciate the glass lid, since I've never had one before and my cooking experience is limited. It's great for seeing how much moisture is left in the rice and to see if things are still simmering or about to boil over.

***Update 07 Nov 2007***
Still a 5-star product in my book! There is no hint of accumulation of yuck in any cracks or crevices. The lid is crystal clear and not scratched or chipped. Both the lid and pot handles are still firmly attached, nothing is loosening or going wobbly.

My grandma has been using the same pans for 50 years and they still look brand new. I think I'll be following in her footsteps with my Krona pots and pans! Very cool!
