Pretty but too fragile July 7, 2008
Buyer beware! Beautiful to look at but you can't actually USE it! Especially if you have kids. All are chipping. And Pfaltzgraff didn't stand behind this product for us. After a few months we called to complain and ask to exchange for another style, but we were basically told, "Sorry, no exchange. Everybody knows stoneware chips, you should have selected a different material". Um, what? That wasn't on your product description. This junk chips when you put it in the dishwasher and it bumps against another plate! So after barely a year, we will be throwing out a HUGE set that we purchased during a kitchen remodel.

Napoli Aren't As Beautiful With All the Chips ! July 8, 2007

They ARE so beautiful, and because of their beauty were even more of a disappointment and waste of money. I usually check reviews, and did not check before I purchased these dishes. Boy, I wish I would have! I have had these dishes less than 90 days, and 7 pieces out of 32 are chipped, some large and some small. We haven't handled them roughly, and Pfaltzgraff said while they are "chip resistant " , if you bump them "hard" enough they will chip. I can tell you we have not only not bumped them " hard", they have not knowingly been bumped at at all. My husband handwashed one last night, this morning I picked it up off the dishtowel and a huge nickle size chunk is just laying there. I would guess it is the poor quality crafmanship coming from all of the " Made in China " products of today. nothng is made to last and even the corporations customer service seem to consider everything a " throw away." Do not waste your enthusiasm, time or money .

Dishes and Shipping June 13, 2007

Order was not correct. Only received service for 4 when I ordered service for 8. Finally got the last set but there were two dishes with chips out of the stoneware, so check yours carefully when they arrive. I love the dishes, large, weighty, beautiful pattern but not thrilled with Amazon's policies, practices or vendors' shipping.

Beautiful dishes, but I am noticing cracks April 29, 2007

We received our Napoli dishes as a wedding gift in May 2006. They are absolutely beautiful and if the quality was great I would recommend them in a heartbeat but unfortunately that is not the case.

Since we don't have a dishwasher, we wash them all by hand so I cannot attest to them not fitting in the dishwasher (although that is good to know). REVISED: we now have a dishwasher and these fit just fine in ours.

We recently noticed a small chip off the edge of one of the large, heavy cereal bowls. They have not been dropped or anything while washing so I couldn't figure out where the chip came from. Also our plates are starting to "crackle" on the finish which I am assuming is from the microwave. This is extremely disappointing to me.

Apparently you HAVE to rate at least one star, but this product doesn't deserve it.

I'm SO disappointed in my dishes.

Before I bought the Pfaltzgraff dishes, I had the same Royal Doulton set for over TWENTY years. I didn't chip or break one single dish. Not one. The dishes that I lost were from taking a dish to someone's house and never got it back.

So, I looked and looked at dishes and finally decided I like this particular pattern made by Pfaltzgraff. I drove over an hour to the Eastern Shore outlet store and bought place settins for twelve and bought most of the serving dishes.

One by one the plates ... the serving dishes are chipping. And not just little chips. I have a large serving bowl that a chunk larger than a 50 cent piece came off.

The dishes are NOT dishwasher safe unless you place some sort of padding around each dish because if there is the slightest clink, they will chip.

The dishes do NOT do well in the microwave. Considering how they have performed, I would never consider using a dish in the oven.

I sent a letter with a copy by email to Pfaltzgraff two months ago. I heard nothing back.

I just followed up with another letter and cc by email asking if the planned on even acknowledging my letter and concerns. Nothing.

Don't EVER buy Pfaltzgraff.
