Like all Professional `S' knives, the reverse-edge carver is constructed of premium German high-carbon, no-stain steel. The blade is Friodur ice-hardened for increased ability to hold an edge; if the serrated blade ever requires resharpening, it should be done by a professional, not at home with a sharpening steel. The classically-styled handle offers the strength of a full tang and triple rivets, while an enhanced bolster adds to the beautiful balance. Though the carver is technically dishwasher-safe, Henckels recommends washing and drying all fine knives by hand immediately after use.
