Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
A shining example of kitchen competence, this set includes everything you need for great cooking. The special multiclad construction bonds brilliantly polished 18/10 stainless steel to a core of pure aluminum for the fastest, most even heat distribution. Professional stainless covers with drip-free rims seal in flavors and nutrients, while the generously sized cool-grip handles provide handling safety. Limited lifetime warranty.

Amazon.com Review
Elegant and contemporary, the Multiclad Pro line from Cuisinart consists of deluxe cookware for the professional home chef. The exteriors of the 18/10 stainless steel pots and pans feature a handsome brushed finish, while the interiors are mirror-polished for non-reactive, quick release of foods. The tri-ply Heat Surround technology sandwiches an aluminum core in the base and side walls for superior, even heating. You'll also find solid cast stainless-steel handles that stay cool on the stovetop, tight-fitting stainless-steel lids, and drip-free pouring rims. Each piece is oven-safe to 500 degrees F, and the pans are safe for broiler-use, too.

This fabulous set consists of basics and more. The 1-1/2- and 3-quart saucepans with lids take care of everything from oatmeal to béchamel sauce, and the veggie steamer insert with its own lid fits the larger saucepan. Also included are 8- and 10-inch open skillets that turn out perfect grilled cheese, hamburgers, and crepes; 3-1/2-quart covered sauté pan with a helper handle, great for braising meats and cooking fish fillets; and an 8-quart covered stockpot for stews and soups. Dishwasher-safe, this set has no coatings to flake off or plastic to melt, and will surely be passed down to the next generation. Cuisinart covers the Multiclad Pro set with a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!   July 11, 2008

This is my first set of stainless cookware. I LOVE IT!! They are so easy to cook with. It took me a minute or two to turn down the burners and cook at a lower temperature than what I used to, but once I did....every thing has turned out so tasty! If you are thinking about getting rid of those nasty teflon pots and pans that are all scratched up this cookware set is perfect!!

5 out of 5 stars Set for life!!!... Now induction ready...   June 2, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I picked up this set when the price dropped to 210 for only a day. It was pointed out to me by someone on the Amazon message boards and I'm VERY grateful. The outer box was seriously damaged and taped, but the inner box and contents were fine. That might be why they let it go at the lower price. They may not have wanted to risk sending a damaged set to someone who paid a premium price for premium cookware, or they just didn't like how the packaging looked.

The set is beautiful... Everything I hoped it would be. Just as thick and heavy as my mom's heirloom steel clad / alluminum set. I was a little awed by opening the box and unwrapping the pieces one by one. I kept thinking... WOW!!! The picture really doesn't do this set justice. If you wanted to be picky, the lids seem just a little thin, but sturdy enough and they fit very well. The stainless has a very slightly darker look to it than the stainless on my mom's heirloom set. The stainless is probably not quite the same quality, but surprisingly close for this day and age. I'm still amazed at what I got for what I paid and have no real complaints at all. The set does seem like it will last more than one generation. Because of this, I like that the lids aren't glass. If they were, one might break... say 15 years down the road... and a replacement might not be available. The stainless lids should last the life of the set.

I have found all the sizes in this set to be very useful compared to what comes in some other sets. This is one of the few sets you'd have no problem cooking for a small family with, without adding additional pieces. You can make a good amount of food in the 3-quart and 8-quart pots and the good-sized 3 1/2 quart saute pan can also be used for just about anything that could be made in a pot or a pan. I'll probably add the 4-quart saucepan or 6-quart pot just in case. I can't decide...

I grew up using 3-ply aluminum / stainless cookware... I've had no problems cooking with this set or keeping it clean. It is performing pretty much as expected. I did get some discoloration spots once from boiling water on high (plenty of water). The spots came off by themselves the next time I used, soaked and washed the saucepan, but that never happened with my mother's old aluminum / stainless clad. It seems my suspicion that the stainless isn't quite the same quality as on my mom's vintage set was correct. I'll have to keep the heat down a bit. Whether or not the stainless is of slightly higher quality on any other brand of cookware made today... I do not know.

I also wanted to add that I keep reading the Cuisinart Multi-Clad Pro can't be used on induction cooktops. Mine says on the box that it can be used on induction cooktops and every piece is stamped "induction ready" on the bottom. It's possible they have just made this change to Multi-Clad Pro.

EDIT: The additional piece I added to my set must have been older stock and it is not stamped "induction ready". Although, it seems to be identical in construction to the other pieces and the stainless does seem to be equally magnetic. I'm not sure if Multiclad Pro has been induction ready all along and it just wasn't advertised... or there has been some change made to the cookware I can't detect.

5 out of 5 stars For the price, wonderful pans   May 28, 2008
There's not a lot to add to all the good things already said about this product. These are wonderful pans for the price.

1 out of 5 stars Pan Handles fell off after only 5 years   April 9, 2008
6 out of 12 found this review helpful

I have always loved these pans until the handle welds failed. Cuisinart wants me to mail them the pots and lids at my expense, they will determine who is at fault, then they will charge me to mail the pans back. Oh yeah, and they said that the lids are not under warranty - despite that there is the exact problem with the lid handle... so I have a stockpot with only one handle, and a lid for another pan with no handle and the company wants me to be out $40 in postage costs to determine if they are at fault.... I am kind of pissed, as I purchased this "quality" set to last my lifetime .

1 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy these pans!   April 8, 2008
3 out of 8 found this review helpful

Please do NOT buy these pans! I recently bought these, and the pans SEVERELY pitted after the FIRST use! I called Cuisinart to inform them of the situation, and they told me that I was out of luck, and that they would not take the pans back. What lousy customer service! I will never ever ever ever order another Cuisinart product again!
