Natural themes celebrating garden flowers and insects boldly decorate Spode's Floral Haven dinnerware pattern, new for 2005. The four glass plates in this set may be used in conjunction with the Imperialware settings, or separately for a brunch, luncheon, or dessert party. Each plate measures 8-1/4 inches across, ideal for a croissant, sandwich, or slice of cake, and all are identically etched with a frilly tulip, spiky iris leaves, a bee, and a butterfly. The tops of the plates feel glassy smooth, while the undersides reveal the frosty etching which helps prevent slipping.

For best results in maintaining the etched design, the plates should be washed by hand. Floral Haven Imperialware delightfully mixes pieces that have either white or mint-green backgrounds, some with scalloped edges, some lightly sculpted. This is a pattern sure to appeal to a modern sensibility. --Ann Bieri
