The mouth of this gently rounded pot measures 9 inches across, while its flat bottom is only 4 inches, allowing you to use the small burner on your stove for a relatively big pot: the wide surface area will speed any soup or stock reduction you have in mind. Cast iron, of course, has marvelous heating qualities, so heat spreads evenly from the pot's base up its sides. You can also use the soup pot in the oven; loop handles help you carry and lift even the heaviest casserole. The baked-on interior and exterior enamel coating means the pot will not react with any acidic foods and is easy to clean. We've benn collecting Le Creuset cookware for years and without a doubt this is our favorite pot of all. It's the perfect size for 2 people and the round bottom is great if you want to start out sauteeing. And that kiwi green couldn't get any happier!
