A good slotted spoon is an essential cooking tool for all kinds of stovetop uses. Whether it's lifting pot stickers from boiling water, or stirring a thick stew, the long, angled handle and patented comfort-grip make this utensil a sure-fire winner. Because it's constructed from nylon, you'll love using it with your nonstick cookware--no scratching or nicking. The business end is sprinkled with 1/4-inch holes that allow liquids to escape easily. There's a hole in the handle as well, for hanging from a wall rack, and it's dishwasher safe. Because of the length, you'll probably need to lay it in the top rack for a good fit. --Jill Lightner

Aside from holding onto a little too much liquid, I have no complaints. It's a slotted spoon. And it's nylon so it won't scratch your non-stick cookware.

It's also fairly hefty. Not heavy, just thick. This isn't a criticism necessarily. It makes for a non-bendy spoon. But if you want to store several of these kinds of utensils in, say, a canister, the rubber-grip handles tend to cling to one another.

I think this spoon is a little too thick. That might sound crazy, but when your trying to stir beans, it makes them break apart. Its good for stews and other heavy foods, but if your trying to cook beans, and other fragile foods, go for something else. Normally I love all the OXO products, but this is one I wouldn't buy again.

This spoon isn't very comfortable. It seems too long or overbalanced and feels odd. It works as promised, though.

This is an excellent cooking spoon. Long and very light weight, the oval perforated bowl is large and the handle is comfortable to hold. According to the OXO website, the spoon is heat resistant to 400 degrees; not the 250 degrees as shown in the product description above.

A slotted spoon is a must-have with vegetables. I like how OXO is nice enough that you can use it as serve ware for a casual dinner. The slots separate the juices and the veggies, so you don't have a soggy plate.
