Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Step into the bakery on an early Sunday morning and the unmistakable aroma of just baked breads brings on a smile. You can create the same ambiance in your home by using this brick shaped mold. Slightly flared sides that contain shape and set the dough. Ideal for quick breads, yeast breads, or any type of crisp-crusted sandwich-type loaf.

5 out of 5 stars Great loaf dish, and pretty too!   February 11, 2008
Works just like it should. $5 is a great price, and it's attactive as well. Love cooking in glass rather than metal... so this was perfect.

4 out of 5 stars Go for clear, not blue   February 10, 2007

Nice basic Pyrex loaf pan.

I agree, however, with the other reviewer who pointed out that a CLEAR glass pan would make it easier to see the state of the product inside. Why didn't I think of that?? I was just drawn to the pretty blue color...but it's not like this item is displayed in my kitchen.

I will pick up the pieces of my shattered life and move on. ;-)

1 out of 5 stars did not get item as described   April 6, 2006

The decription says it is a 9x5 loaf loaf dish. I was thrilled. I have been looking all over to find one that size in glass. I was so mad and disappointed when I opened the box and it was 8.5 x 4.5. That wasn't what I ordered. And yes when baking bread there is a difference. I am still waiting on my postage-paid return label so I can ship this back. This would have been a great deal, except I already have the 8.5 x 4.5 pans. They need to change the dimensions in the description. Buyer beware!!

4 out of 5 stars Cheaper than Walmart   February 2, 2006

I can't see that well so the blue doesn't help me view the bread to determind if it is getting too btown. Other than that, this is one heck of a good deal. Yay Pyrex. Love the price.

5 out of 5 stars Homemade Bread? Yum!   September 3, 2005

Won't argue with "slightly smaller" review, but that just means you get a higher loaf, or you buy two and get two loaves. I've been using Pyrex for decades, and one (clear) loaf pan was the one my mother bought back in the 30's -- still makes a beautiful loaf of bread.

And if you hate the thought of making your own yeast-rising dough, check your grocery store for Rich's Frozen Bread 5-pack; it's yeast-rising bread that you just put in the lightly-greased or non-stick sprayed loaf pan, still frozen, on the kitchen counter (I cover my loaf loosely with plastic wrap so it won't dry out while it rises); come back in 5-8 hours, and pop the pan-sized loaf into a 375-degree oven for a half-hour, and then let it cool a little before scrumptious yums and beautiful odors.

And this pan is perfect for that... Enjoy.
