Handcast from molten iron in individual sand molds, the line features a sturdy construction that conducts evenly and retains heat well. A double layer of chip-resistant, non-reactive porcelain enamel coats both rims and interiors, while glossy, colorful enameling covers the exteriors. Handsome as well as functional, the enamel simplifies use by eliminating the need for seasoning the cast iron while creating an ideal browning surface.

A great size for family dining, this 3-quart Lodge Color casserole has a wide, shallow shape that's perfect for classic and contemporary hot dish recipes. A heavy lid adds versatility, and the heat-retaining materials keep food warm at the table. Also suitable for marinating or freezing, the dish is safe on the stovetop and oven-safe to 400 degrees F. I use this pan quite often.It's beautiful, I make the most amazing dishes in this casserole. you can't go wrong with cast iron.

my pot came today and it's beautiful. if it didn't say Lodge on the knob I would think it was a more expensive brand. What surprised me most is that it says made in China in big letters across the box. I had wrote to the amazon forum and people were saying Lodge is made in America. The green is a little deeper color than it looks on the page. It will look pretty on a dinner table.

This is a really green pan...it uses less energy because of the even heating and it's heat retention quality. DO NOT USE HIGH HEAT on this pan, you don't need it. It functions perfectly with medium to low heat. This pan also matches perfectly with my Fiesta dishes, down to the concentric circle design. It is also priced to fit into almost any budget. I would give this pan a 10 if I could!!!

I purchased the larger version of this Lodge pot first (haven't used it yet). I used this 3 qt. pot today for the first time. So far, it's performed beautifully. I'm looking forward to many years of good cooking and easy use. I paid a few dollars more than the $23+ listed on 7/11/08 but under $27. I feel (so far) it's been well worth the $
