5 out of 5 stars Great for Bean Dip!   July 1, 2008
1 out of 2 found this review helpful

This is a luxury product! However, if you wanna keep your bean dip hot while you shovel down nacho flavored corn chips, the Little Dipper is the ticket! The instructions are explicit: it requires a full 30 minutes to come up to temperature! That aside, this is a neat little product. Get one for Gramps or for Gramma!

5 out of 5 stars no problem with cleaning   February 11, 2008

I have found the Little Dipper quite easy to clean. I don't have a dishwasher, so washing dishes by hand is normal for me. I am very happy with this product and it serves my purposes well.

4 out of 5 stars Very useful   January 18, 2008

Am very pleased - the heating element keeps dips etc warm without scorching. I bought this one for holiday entertaining and actually received a second one as a gift - I ended up using both of them for parties. Perfect size for small get togethers.

5 out of 5 stars Rival Little Dipper   January 7, 2008

The Little Dipper at 16 oz. makes a wonderful item for hot dips,Little Smokies, or meatballs for snacks at cocktail time. It was used everyday after Christmas for this purpose. Of course being a slow cooker it takes about an hour to get things hot, once hot though and unplugged it kept the items hot for at least an hour. We would highly recommend this product.

5 out of 5 stars Great for making oatmeal   October 5, 2007

I use this little crockpot to make steel-cut oatmeal for a healthy breakfast, and it works just great! The temperature is fine and I haven't had an issue with overcooked oatmeal.

Another reviewer noted one of the frustrating things about this little slow cooker, and that's that the insert isn't removable, as it is on some big crock pots. That makes cleaning frustrating. I've found a good solution to that - I add a little bit of water to the pot and then insert a large ramekin into the basin. The lid still fits just fine, to keep too much water from evaporating. It turns it into kind of a "double boiler" setup, which buffers the heat and gives me an easily removable bowl of oatmeal in the morning. For a while, I was eating right out of the crock pot, but this solution is much better. Any crusty oatmeal can then just get washed out in the dishwasher and I rarely have to worry about cleaning the small crockpot itself.

I love this little appliance - I don't think anything else would work quite as well for the purpose I use it for.
