Product Description
Get ready to cook up a storm and whip up meals that everyone will remember! Cuisinart's 11-cup processor can do everything from blending 2.5 pounds of dough to chopping a single clove of garlic--and anything else in between. In addition to its vast functionality, it's also easy to use and clean. Its work bowl is shatterproof and heat and cold resistant. Great meals have never been so easy. Model DLC-2011.

Amazon.com Review
Equipped with an extra-large feed tube, a small feed tube, a dough blade, and slicing and shredding discs, this 600-watt, 11-cup, full-size food processor provides all the power, versatility, and capacity needed by any household. The motor automatically adjusts the speed to ensure proper consistency when mixing doughs. Cooks experienced with Cuisinart food processors will welcome the new feed tube and pusher assembly, which is easy to use and conveniently located at the machine's front. At 4-1/4 inches by 2-3/4 inches, the large oval feed tube accommodates whole fruits and vegetables. The small, cylindrical tube is located inside the pusher assembly and has its own hollow pusher, which removes with a twist. On the bottom of the small pusher is a pinhole for dribbling oil into the bowl while making mayonnaise.

The Lexan work bowl is virtually shatterproof and impervious to heat or cold. There's the familiar stainless-steel chopping blade and a dough blade. Stainless-steel slicing (4 mm) and shredding discs, a plastic spatula shaped for the work bowl, a recipe booklet, and an instruction video showing basic use, tips, techniques, and preparation of some recipes from the booklet complete the package. (Existing Cuisinart blades and discs also fit this machine.) Cuisinart warranties the motor against defects for 10 years and the remaining parts for three years. --Fred Brack

4 out of 5 stars New to me   December 28, 2007
This is my first food processor, I wanted a good one so I would not judge the usefulness on a cheapie. This machine has worked very well. For some small jobs I will prefer my knives. but I compare it to a microwave, (yes I remember when they were new), some things I wouldn't want to do without it.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   December 18, 2007

I bought this machine (in white) a week ago, and I have used it every day since then. I just love it. The machine works so effortless, quick, and elegant. It's such a joy to use it. The blade is super sharp and chops and blends everything very nicely. The two discs that come with it are heavy duty quality and work great. I love the extra large feeding tube. I haven't used the dough blade, so I can't say anything about that. Besides making food preparation fun, the machine also looks very nice and doesn't take up a lot of counter space. All the parts clean up quickly under warm running water. I am so pleased with this machine. I went to the store with the firm resolution to buy the Kitchenaid food processor, but I changed my mind when I compared it to the Cuisinart. I think this machine will serve me well in the years to come.

1 out of 5 stars The unit leaks from the top and bottom   September 7, 2007

I recently bought this unit to replace a trusty Cuisinart food processor that I used and loved for 30 years. Sadly, I discarded the old unit (the Lexan bowl had cracked) before fully testing the new unit. The first item I prepared was a small brioche dough. The unit leaked badly under the blade, and that part of the bowl was extremely difficult to clean. The next item I tried to prepare was a cold soup. I filled it to just under the marked fill line and water gushed out of the top when the liquid started to spin. I have just spoken with Cuisinart customer service. Both of these problems are normal with the unit. The maximum liquid that one can process is two cups! My small brioche dough was also too large. and it is normal for some dough to leak out under the blade. Needless to say, my old Cuisinart processor did not have either of these problems. This unit is fine for grating or slicing vegetables, or cheese, but not much else. Such a disappointment!

2 out of 5 stars Beware Cuisinart Customer Service   August 13, 2007

The first time I washed the workbowl and cover in the dishwasher, something warped and the two pieces became very difficult to close together and practically impossible to separate when forced closed.

Cuisinart required that the workbowl and cover be returned to them before they would be replaced. It took over 6 weeks and many phone calls (mostly unsuccessful in actually talking to a rep) and emails (usually, but not always, promptly replied to) before I received a "replacement" unit, which turned out to be my original bowl and cover returned in the same condition in which I sent it.

I complained via email and was instructed to return the unit again and told that it would be replaced with a new one. When I requested that they just send a new one out and not make me return the old one again, I was refused. No return, no replacement.

Another 4 weeks, phone calls and emails later I received the new unit; the top and the bottom didn't fit together.

I bought a Kitchenaid food processor. I will never buy a Cuisinart product again and I suggest that you don't either.

3 out of 5 stars Plagued by Plastic Parts Failure   May 25, 2007
8 out of 9 found this review helpful

There are things that I love about this food processor: great speed, flush buttons that make the base unit easy to clean, wide variety of available slicing discs. However, the plastic parts crack and/or break over time, with light use (once or twice a month). Replacement parts are very expensive: e.g., about $25 for a work bowl, $40 for a work bowl cover. Given the initial price, I expected a more durable unit. So far, I've replaced the work bowl, the work bowl cover, and the work bowl feeder part. Next time a part breaks, I'll replace the unit with another brand.
