Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
For flawless looking pancakes or fried eggs, try these Egg/Pancake Rings at home. Set of 4 comes as a single unit that you can place on your griddle or inside your pan (as shown - pan not included). And each ring features a nonstick coating so food removes easily. Handle is heat resistant so you can lift and remove comfortably, and it detaches for cleaning and storage. Use this multipurpose tool for serving perfectly formed side dishes and keeping other food from overlapping as you cook. Great for making layered food presentations, too.

Amazon.com Review
Cooking for a crowd? These rings allow you to fry up to four precisely sized eggs or flapjacks at a shot. Or you can boost efficiency by cooking separate items in the same pan without creating an unintentional goulash. The rings' nonstick surface makes for less mess during serving and cleanup, and they're easy to assemble or take apart. --Emily Bedard

5 out of 5 stars My granddaughter is happy now!!!!   July 7, 2008
Not long ago, my 5 year old granddaughter was visiting, and I made her an breakfast egg sandwich. She told me, "Grandma, the egg isn't round like I get at school." After looking at every store I could think of to purchase egg rings, and not being able to find them, I turned to Amazon.com. After looking at the numerous sets they have, and reading the reviews of all of them, I decided to purchase this set. And let me tell you, they are great. Like a lot of the reviews stated, I did spray a little non-stick spray in them. And to avoid leakage of the egg white under the ring, I did put the ring into the frying pan and heated it for about 30 seconds. And guess what?? I now have perfectly round fried eggs for my breakfast sandwiches. They fit perfectly on a muffin....just the right size. And they clean up easily, too. I must say, I have never tried the handle due to the fact that I never make more than 3 fried eggs at a time. But I have had no problem removing the ring using a pair of tongs. I am VERY happy with this product, and have recommended it to many people. I was very anxious for the next time my granddaughter came, so that I could make her a breakfast sandwich. And, needless to say, she was very surprised and happy. Just let me tell you, you can't go wrong with this set.

4 out of 5 stars One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.   July 2, 2008
OK, so these egg/pancake rings aren't exactly cursed but you'd think this product was downright evil after reading some of these reviews.

Perhaps, most people are expecting too much. These rings work and respond best to a gentle cooking hand. I've tried eggs and pancakes both and have had great success. The more I use the rings, the more proficient I've become. HERE'S A TIP: You don't want to overfill the rings. Give it a gentle shake to loosen the pancake from the edges before lifting the rings away.

I like this product because it allows me to produce pancakes that are PERFECTLY SIZED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. I make a huge batch on Sunday and put enough in the freezer to last the week.

BTW: We've owned the rings for more than a year and the NONSTICK SURFACE is holding up well.

3 out of 5 stars Difficult to use   June 27, 2008
This product is difficult to use all 4 egg rings at once. You cannot simply lift the rings away the eggs always stick. I found u need to seperatte the eggs from the side of the ring then lift.

4 out of 5 stars They are what they are   June 26, 2008
These rings are exactly what they say they are, rings to cook eggs with. They say you can also do pancakes, but I don't know who likes pancakes that small or why you need a perfectly round 3.5 inch pancake, although I guess you could use them to make crumpets as well. The product works well and cleans up easy. My only issue is finding the perfect heat/ time balance so they are cooked through but not browned like the people at the golden arches are able to.

3 out of 5 stars Different than McDonald's...   March 1, 2008

As a person who used to work for Mickey D's, there are some differences with the tool they use to make Egg McMuffins. Theirs is heavy duty, felt like cast iron. Before cooking, we coated them quite liberally with melted butter, then cracked the eggs into the rings. Next step was to break the yolks with a spatula. Finally, the step that differs most from these rings - we added a heavy lid over them which had an integral little cup with a small hole in the bottom. We would fill the cup with water and the water would seep under the lid, hitting the grill and steaming the eggs to completion.

I haven't used this item, but imagine if you are looking to duplicate the McDonald's process and want to avoid 'egg seepage' you may want to look for a heavier duty set and perhaps find a way to duplicate the lid idea.
