Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
A pot that can be used on top of the range, as well as in the heating base of the appliance offers plenty of options. The cover allows you to cook with moist heat, and to cook things like burgers, fried dumplings, and eggs more quickly. Whether you like to cook for an audience at the table, or feel burner-challenged when it comes to cooking meals for company, you'll find this an easy to use, handy appliance.

Amazon.com Review
Terrific for conveniently cooking one-pot meals or baking, this 1300-watt appliance prepares stews, rice dishes, soups, shabu-shabu, pancakes, fried noodles, and many other dishes on the countertop or at the table. The cooking pot, which lifts off the heating plate, holds 10 cups and measures 10 inches in diameter. It's coated in titanium-ceramic nonstick rugged enough to be safe with metal utensils. (The pot can safely be placed on a stovetop gas burner as long as there's liquid in the pot.) The unit's cooking range is 280-460 degrees F (140 to 240 degrees C), and there's also a keep-warm temperature of 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). The bottom section housing the heating plate is clad in gray plastic, matching the cooking pot's nonstick coating, with the cooking pot's stay-cool handles providing stylish black accents. Overall, the oval unit measures 14-1/2 inches wide and 7-1/2 inches high, including the pot's see-through glass lid. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Chinese Cooking   April 17, 2008

This pot is perfect for making Chinese hot pot dinners. It heats up quickly and is perfect for serving a 2-4-person shabu shabu. We also use it for grilling Chinese pancakes and making potstickers. It works fantastically. It's important that you read the instruction manual carefully to avoid the damages from overheating the inner pan.

5 out of 5 stars great ele. pot for shabu shabu and sizzling meats and veggies   March 28, 2008

I love this! It makes my shabu shabu cooking so easy. Easy to adjust the degree of heat. I cook Bulgogi as well as Shabu Shabu. It's great for any kind of sukiyaki too! Great and essential kitchen stuff!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome cooker   March 13, 2008
I bought this cooker/skillet a couple of months ago and my wife and I just love it. It will cook a frozen roast quickly and she has prepared a tastiest stew in less than two hours. The deep removable cooker pot is great. It cooks just about everything great. Though the surface area is not quite suited for bacon, eggs or pancakes due to its depth and size. But depite that, we love the Zojirushi EVC25. Waiting for them to come out with a rectangular skillet and/or griddle. (something for the bacon, eggs and pancakes). Highly recommend

3 out of 5 stars Not Worthy   February 24, 2008

Disappointed. I had such high hopes for this item. It is an over-glorified electric fry pan, no better than its cheaper counterparts. And as other reviews state, has a really small cooking area. The one I received had a sloppily-applied label, air pockets throughout -- this label goes across the front of the item & lists the temperatures. For the price, I expected better quality. And note that this is not made in Japan. It is made in China. This should be listed on the specifications. I really like Amazon, but not this product, and will be returning it.

1 out of 5 stars This unit is SMALL!   February 17, 2008

I'm giving this Zojirushi one star in order to get your attention. Read the other reviews for details on performance. You should be aware that this skillet is really quite small for anyone other than a single person or couple, and even then it may well be too small. Measuring just 10 inches in diameter at the top, the sides are contoured so that the bottom is even smaller. So just be sure you can live with this size skillet. If you're not sure, take out a ruler and a piece of paper and draw a 9 and one half inch circle. This can tell you if its small size will be acceptable.
