This miniature version of OXO's popular salad spinner has a capacity of 10 ounces and is the perfect size for drying berries, herbs, or salad for two. This little spinner has the same patented pump mechanism as its predecessor, which sets it spinning with one push on the soft knob. A nonslip base keeps the bowl rooted to your countertop while your lettuce is in motion. Water drains through the spinner's colander into the plastic bowl and a patented brake button lets you stop the spinning when the leaves are dry. The lid to the salad spinner also has a airtight lock so you can store greens right in the bowl after draining and drying to extend their storage life. A great spinner October 10, 2008
We received one of these salad spinners as a gift 10 years ago, and we use it on a regular basis. Not only is it a great spinner, storing the greens in the spinner in the fridge extends their life immensely (compared to any sort of plastic bag--even those veggie bags that extend the life of the greens).

Save $$$ on your grocery bill; stop buying salad kits October 8, 2008
Stop buying bagged salad kits and save money on your grocery bill. Salad kits cost about $3-$4 per pound (most bags come in 12oz or 9oz sizes).

This is a huge time saver for home-cooked meals. No more shaking wet lettuce in the sink! The spinner rotates quickly with a few light pushes. It also has a brake and the container can double as a storage bowl for leafy greens.

The spinner works great for more than salad. Try cabbage for slaw, shrimp for cocktails and vegetable slices for grilling and baking.

Love it! September 28, 2008
I knew I wanted a salad spinner, but I didn't know how much I would love it until I got one! Not only does it dry lettuce beautifully, but it keeps it fresh for AGES. I wash the lettuce, spin dry and then store it in the spinner in the fridge. If you have a small fridge, you may want a smaller model--it does take up a good amount of space. Highly recommended!

Great for removing all the excess water September 25, 2008
I highly recommend this as one of the must haves in the kitchen. All of the stand alone draining cannot get rid of the excess water from washing. I particularly this OXO brand because it comes with an additional plastic top so I store my leafy greens in the fridge without the spinning rod. I also use it for my fruits, and it has proven especially handy for getting off the moisture from washing my strawberries so I could dip them in chocolate. I did spin some french fries in it to get off the excess grease, but didn't enjoy having to clean out all of those grid spaces, but worked well for this also.

it was very sturdy as I have accidentally dropped it several times.
