Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
Former heavyweight boxing champ George Foreman loves his meat but not the fat, so he devised a series of fat-reducing electric indoor grilling machines. This family-size grill provides more than fifty square inches of cooking surface for burgers, steaks, chicken breasts, fish fillets, or veggies. Sloping channels allow grease to run off into the drip tray during cooking, keeping meats lean. Nonstick, easy-to-clean plates on the heavy lid and base don't require greasing and sear meats to seal in juices. Both sides of the food are cooked at once, so no flipping is required and cooking time is cut in half. A floating hinge allows the lid to fit evenly over thick foods, and the top of the lid flips up to expose a metal bun warming surface. The drip tray and a plastic spatula are included. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars It's 5 years old and it has kept on trucking   June 27, 2008
It's a George Foreman grill...it works just like the millions of others that are out there. We've had it for 5 years and it works just like it did 5 years ago. We've never used the bun warmer but the grill and "drip pan," work fine. I do, however, think that there should be a better less gross method of collecting the fat/grease/whatever it's called.

5 out of 5 stars The key is in the warm buns...   March 25, 2004

There are too many great things to say about this little device: It's affordable to anybody, even if you are a student stuck living at school. It's compact, you can store it anywhere--a closet, your car, your office, the kitchen cabinet. It's powerful--I have plugged it in and in just minutes began working on an entire three course meal for six people with only this unit to work with. It's easy to clean--this is one of the few products out there that is every bit as easy to clean as the commercials show it to be on TV. It's is economical, using very little electricity to do a just that would waste electricity in a conventional oven or even an older model microwave oven. It's versatile--I have cooked everything from thin pieces of tempeh strips to thick steaks and it cooks both to perfection. You never would have been able to convince me to buy anything on TV before (and most certainly not from a former boxing champion...) but since a friend both this grill for me I have thanked them time and again (and in turn bought the same gift for many a friend of my own).

4 out of 5 stars Definitely worth the counter space   January 21, 2004
I was interested by this product, with all the ads how could a person not be aware of it, but I wasn't sure it would realy be worth the cost and more imporatantly the space to use and store it. Our family was given one for as a gift and now I wish I had gotten one sooner!

Cooking time is fast, the fat really does drain off, the food tastes great and clean up is easy. My non-cooking daughter will even use this product (and doesn't burn down the house either!)

My only complaints with the product are that there is no on/off switch or temperature control. Once it is plugged in it's on and stays on until it's unplugged.

I will be buying a second smaller grill to send off to college with the cooking-challenged daughter.

5 out of 5 stars Eatting Healthier   January 4, 2004
I love this grill. I have changed my eatting habits with this and feel it has contribute to a 54lb weight loss in about 3.5 months. Love it!!

1 out of 5 stars it broke already!   December 19, 2003
I bought this in September 2003, and loved using it. Unfortunately, it no longer works; it quit in the middle of cooking lunch! I have heard that it is made by Salton, the makers of my sandwich maker that did the same thing.
