Crafted by the prominent Austrian wineglass maker, Riedel, the Dominus single decanter blends function with beauty. Standing 11-1/2-inches high, this elegant decanter's design includes a rounded base for durability and a long, slender neck for added delicacy. A glass stopper in the shape of a tear drop gently rests at the top of the decanter's mouth, beautifully refracting the light and adding an artistic flare. This decanter is suitable for moderate to major aeration of wines from the Bordeaux region, as well as other aged reds, and it easily holds one 750-milliliter bottle of wine.

Most wine connoisseurs recommend decanting aged red wines directly before serving in order to prevent any sediment from obscuring the wine's clarity and brilliance. Riedel also suggests decanting young wines several hours before serving to gives them a chance to fully bloom. Constructed from 24 percent lead crystal, the Dominus single decanter is durable enough to be placed in the dishwasher, however due to the crystal's soft surface, Riedel recommends washing by hand. --Lea Werbel
