Perfect for reducing sauces or cooking vegetables on the stovetop and for braising meat in the oven, this shallow, 2-1/2-quart saucepan is coated with nonstick inside to release food readily and clean easily. The nonstick is durable enough to go safely into the oven at temperatures up to 450 degrees F. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum with a matte finish, the pan conducts heat uniformly and quickly. Because the aluminum is anodized it's harder than steel and the pan won't scratch, chip, or crack. The oval, brushed stainless-steel handle stays cool on the stovetop and has a hanging hole for the pan to be stored on hook or peg. The domed glass lid collects and returns moisture to food and permits monitoring of cooking without reducing the temperature inside the pan. Great, till the coating lasts May 7, 2008
I purchased the pan back in 2006 and it was wonderful, better than just anything Walmart carry; for the records Walmart was the course of my cookware (or whatever you call them) back in grad school's salary. Unlike most pan, the sheet of metal is thick and by soem magic heats up really fast. Now after carful using (alwasy wooden spatulla and hand wash) teh coating started to peel of soem tiem middle of 2007 and the process is still on. Now, it sticks up everything, only thing I can really cook is sause; I used to saute my food a lot and now I can do so only if I use a different pan. Overal, not worth the extra $; I think a more resonable way to get nonstick is hard anodized stuff.

Another great calphalon product April 5, 2008
Purchased this to replace another pan that was ruined by our cook top. I like Calphalon because it heats very evenly and cooks great at low heat settings. Easy to clean. Will buy more pieces when my current Calphalon pieces wear out - they're currently 14 years old and still going strong.

Great pot for everyday use March 23, 2008
This pot is great for those of us who don't cook and don't want a full set of pots. Rice, frying onions, and scrambled eggs were never easier or turned out better. It cleans up in seconds so it can be used for the next dish. Great gift for those just starting out. Just wish Amazon would bring back the $29 price it was listed at prior to 12/07.

Nice finishing, well balanced, very good lid, it does not stick.
maybe the outside metal finishing scratches a bit too easily, but not big deal.

Excellent Pan February 23, 2008
This pan is well balanced, fast and even to heat, and easy to clean both inside and out. I love the see through lid. The handle does not get hot. After owning French cookware for 10 years, I am kind of picky. I really haven't experienced any negatives with this pan.
