The Royal Albert Old Country Roses dinnerware, introduced in 1962, combines intense color and graceful lines for a highly romantic mood. An elegant take on the pattern, this 6-1/2-ounce teacup is both dainty and vibrant. It is perfect for a cozy cup of tea by yourself or a festive gathering with friends. Crafted from pristine white bone china, the cup is bordered with pink and gold rose bouquets--a large one on the exterior and a smaller one inside. Its sides are fluted and it is trimmed in 22-carat gold at the foot, base, rim, and handle. Measuring 3-1/2 inches in diameter, the cup hold 6-1/2 ounces. The outsourced Royal Albert February 13, 2008
My original Royal Albert pieces were made in England. This new piece was made in Indonesia. Whereas The pieces look good on the initial cursory inspection, this cup teaters slightly on the saucer. However, the ones from England were flawless. I will note that the English pieces were manufactured in 1962. Whether it's the place of manufacture or modern methods versus the method 40 years ago, I couldn't say. If you aren't put off by the slight lacking in precision, the new pieces should do alright by you. If you want perfection, hold out for the old British made ones.
