the service was quick. the gloves work for most hot things but not when gripping iron cast cookware for more than a few seconds.

Lodge cooking gloves January 7, 2008
Cook a lot on open fire with cast iron and these gloves are the ticket for handling hot lids and pots. Liked the liner which made putting them on and removeing them a snap along with the protection they gave.

Great for tending a house fireplace, especially when adjusting burning logs.

No real heat penetration, nicely lined, long enough to keep your sleeves from singing.

Dutch oven cooking, working with charcoal chimneys with tongs, or hot lids? Buy other gloves if you want inferior merchandise. Buy these if you want the real deal.

These are really good for handling the hot iron. Keep in mind, leather can scorch and deform if exposed to a heat source much above cooking pot temps (say a fire grate, or stove element). Hide burning stinks, but it's not yours! As they can get dirty, and will absorb oil/grease, I use hot-pads as well. Useing the gloves as primary defence against burns.
