Bought a set and after 2 weeks they were scratched!!, even some that I only used once!!. I don't know if it is a quality control issue or what, but be warned these are made in Indonesia (asia is known for having a terrible quality control, if none) not in Germany or Luxemburg. Right now I'm replacing the whole set for a different one, not sure if I'm going to go for V&B again. I would rate these 0 star, but it is not possible to do. I like the way they look, though.

I very much enjoy this line of everyday wear from V&B. Having a young child, 8 when I purchased, and getting tired of the plain white cafe wear or other "durable" wear... I decided to give these a try. I love them, very durable finish and pretty study. I've only chipped one plate in the three years since purchase, and that was because I hit it against the edge of my granite counter... so it was more my fault then the durability of the dinner wear. I've mixed the Alea Verde and Limone patterns and am pleased. I also receive many compliments on the dinner wear. Plus, with Amazon giving very good prices, they weren't much more expensive then getting that white cafe wear from many well know brick and mortar stores. Currently, I have dinner plates, salad plates, cups/mugs, and a serving platter. The entire pattern line mixes well with other casual or semi-formal service I own and just makes meal time not so visually bland. I guess, the hardest part was deciding on what to choose as my base color... for me it ended up being the verde.

Amzaon mistakenly shipped 12 incorrect Villeroy & Boch dinner plates, the pattern was not even close. And two of the plates were received broken. Amazon was super about the return; and refunded my purchase quickly and efficeintly. I subsequently purchased the plates elsewere. The plates themselves are of the finest quality. (Other similar orders from Amazon were received in good condition. This order, just an anomoly?)
